I can help in the food department... I'll come back later with some entertainment ideas for you....

We LOVED Calypso Joe's!!

Live Bait is good...and fun place to hang out...

Will you and DH have a night alone? My DH and I had a wonderful romantic meal at the Sunset Corkroom....

Don't go to Cotton's (unless you like the smell of a dirty diaper mixed with stale seafood) - plus their food has gone way downhill...

Avoid places like Jakes - its your typical restaurant chain - food is mediocre...

Gotta run - I'll come back with more later!
Good luck planning - you'll have a blast!!

:hippie:

I 2nd Calypso Joe's.

Also, Lambert's (home of thrown rolls) and Lulu's are fun places to eat.

We just returned from there this weekend and Waterville had $3 mini-golf if that's something you like.

I love Live Bait! I'll be there in two weeks. Can't wait!
I also love the Oyster House, Lulu's, Hazel's...yum!

Lulu's is fun. Get there early or be prepared to wait! Original Oyster House is wonderful--try the cheese grits. Hazel's has a great buffett--great if you have teenagers that eat a lot. Lambert's is lots of fun too. The portions are huge and they throw the rolls to you.

Hazel's has the best BREAKFAST ever. Oh, so good! It's always the last thing we do before we head out of town.

I've never stayed at Gulf Shores, but my family from Memphis likes Sea N Suds

We really enjoyed Cobalt and Cosmos. They were very yummy!!

Another vote for The Original Oyster House. You will have to wait. Also Desoto's Seafood Kitchen. It is located behind the store that has the shark head as the entrance. I believe it was the best meal I have ever had in Gulf Shores. Found their website and it has the menu on it.

I also vote for Original Oyster House, Lambert's (go hungry, fill up on the all-you-can-eat sides, and take home the leftovers for another meal :thumbsup2) and we also love Cafe Grazie at Sanroc Cay.

Speaking of which, Sanroc Cay is a nice shopping area if you like boutique type shops, plus the restaurants are good and you can walk around and look and the fishing boats while you wait for a table. http://www.sanroccay.com/

Or, if you want bargains, head up to Foley on a rainy day and hit the outlet mall.

Souvenir City (in Orange Beach with the pink roof, and in Gulf Shores, with the big shark you walk through to get inside) has yummy fudge.

A dolphin cruise is also fun. There are several companies to choose from, but I think they all guarantee you will see dolphins.

Zekes Landing is a really good upscale restaurant. Coconut Willie's in awesome. I would pay a visit to the outlet malls in Foley. The Hangout is also a really fun place to visit and just soak up the atmosphere.

The Crab Trap in Perdido Key is a good place to eat. I also like Louisisana Lanyappe (I know i didn't spell that right) is very nice too.

Lulu's to me is ok. It is a fun atmosphere, but the food is ok. The best item I had there were their fish tacos.

Bahama Bobs is a small place but with excellent food.

We have a condo in Gulf Shores, near Bahama Bobs and we have never beed disappointed.

The Original Oyster House in Gulf Shores I hear is good. We drive to the one in Spanish Fort, because we can drive there, eat, and get back before getting in at the one in Gulf Shores.

There is another small place we found off the beaten path, but I can't remember the name. I will have to call my dad get the name and the road it is on.

Bahama Bob's is good food. Lulu's is a fun atmosphere but hit or miss with the food. I still go there a lot (I live 30 minutes from Gulf Shores) but I go because the kids have fun and I enjoy listening to the music and having my favorite drink they serve: The Jet Ski Killer!!! :rolleyes1

My sister and her family lives in Spanish Fort and vacations with us in Gulf Shores. If she forgets something she can just run home.

The other restaurant, I couldn't remember is The Galley and it is off of County Rd 10. It is a small place too, but the food is great. The people who own it also own King Neptunes, but the menu is different than King Neptunes.

I haven't tried the Jet Ski Killer drink, I may have to take the kids and let them play in the sand while I have a beverage.

Sea n'Suds in Gulf Shores is a must!
Cosmo's restaurant in Orange Beach is also wonderful.
I'm so jealous-love Orange Beach and Perdido Key-beaches are fabulous!
