actually Gilld.. technically you are exactly right. :thumbsup2
Under normal circumstances drugs are not covered under insurance policies (well ours were not for dentistry anyway) however as the only treatment I received was Antibiotics I actually was covered on this occasion. and I suspect for another condition you may well not be.

However, I wouldnt rely on this.. as it clearly stated in our policy that we would not be covered for drugs...

We still had to pay a hefty excess anyway.. so it was still an expensive trip!

Both antibiotics and analgesics were prescribed and covered by insurance. Perhaps ours is just a good policy.

No advice here I'm afraid but I've had 2 wisdom teeth out so I know how painful teeth can be, wanted to send you lots of :grouphug: for the pain and hope you feel better soon whatever you decide. I think if it was me I'd be so tempted to get on that plane, good luck,

I've just had a thought - do you have Denplan or similar? You may be covered for emergency treatment whilst you're away. I'm pretty sure mine covers me.

I claimed £101 off my Westfield when I needed dental treatment in Italy :thumbsup2

Deb, dental insurance is a brand new concept here. It's something I'm gonna look into though, but for now, no, I don't have any.

I've got an appt with the new dentist on Monday and my own dentist on Tues. I'm hoping between the pair of them, I'll get something sorted to get rid of the pain. I don't care what they do to me at this stage once I have a pain-free holiday. Here's hoping! Thanks for the good wishes folks!
