Hi,

If we are staying on the Kidani side, are there different areas for the Savanna views and are they something you can request?

Kidani Village faces 2 Savanna's. The Sunset and Pembe. There are different animals on both. The Pembe will have the Okapi & Red River Hogs. The Sunset will have the Zebras, Giraffes and several other hoofed animals. You can request a Savanna, but like all requests they are not guarenteed.

I had read to request a room near the lobby since there are more animal feeders near the lobby. Also, a room on the 2nd floor as the lower you are the closer you are to the animals. We requested both of these and had a fantastic room last week. Plus, this resort is very spread out, so being close to the lobby was extra helpful when we went down to the community hall, giftshop, pool, etc.

Ok...so I'm seeing lots of references to people requesting rooms near the lobby area.

What kind of added noise issue does that present. I want the best SV but not at the price of extra noise.

Thoughts anyone?

It adds nothing to noise. All savanna view rooms are generally quiet.

About 80% of all Kidani savanna view rooms overlook the Sunset savanna. If you have not been to Kidani, a reason to request close to lobby (which would mean a view of the sunset savanna) is distance from lobby to room. If you were to get a room near the end of the north wing (furthest from Jambo), the walk from the lobby to your room will be 5 minutes or more because it is more than 1/4 mile; if end of south wing (closest to Jambo) it is just under 1/4 mile.

We were 4 rooms from the lobby on the 2nd floor last week (in a 2 bedroom). I thought it was very noisy with kids running down the hallway. I've been to WDW over 20 times and it was definitely the noisiest room stay we've had.

I loved the room, loved the balcony (we had a giraffe feeder straight off our balcony), loved the location and convenience to both the lobby and the bus stop. Just didn't like the noise from the excited children in the hallway.

I had also put in a request for lower floor close to lobby when I made the reservation.

Do you mind sharing the room number you had? Was it noisy from both the bedrooms and the living area?

I was there last week and we were on the 5th floor. Room 7908. Studio. 4 doors from Elevator. Very quiet.

we were there last week in 7738 (3rd floor room, one section past the Rafiki elevator. It was a good 2 minute walk to the lobby, but pretty convenient to the pool. (pool is right off the Rafiki elevator.)

Room was very quiet. We were just above eye level with the giraffes.

PP is correct, if you are stuck at the end of the resort on either end, it is approx 1/4 mile back to the lobby. I walked it one day just to see... a steady, brisk 5 minute walk.

Views are great though. On our side last week, we mainly saw the long horned cattle and the giraffes. A few birds, and once a couple zebras.

Wonderful to wake up too. :cool1:

Man......I'd love to get a room like that.
