My SIL was looking at the $250 trip to take her DS 12 fishing. They saw pictures somewhere or a review saying the fish are huge and you catch many.

However, 250 for 2 hours seems a little steep. Is it worth it or is there another cheaper way to fish at the Fort or anywhere else on property that you might actually catch something.

Yes there is the chance you will catch many and huge fish, but I also think $250.00 is alot of $.

You can fish any canal, lake or pond on the property so long as you stay off the docks. We bring our own nightcrawlers and poles and have caught some nice bass and bream this way. Also some friends have caught some nice catfish at the Fort.

For bass and bream, fish the canal behind loop 300 for catfish fish the canal by loop 2000.

There is a kids fish excursion which was not to badly priced, if it's still happening. I think the # is 407-wdw-play.

You might want to post the dates you are going and see if you can find someone there at the same time who would be interested in splitting the cost.

We do the bass fishing trip every trip to Disney we have always caught a boatlaod of largemouth and some have been as small as a pound and others have been closer to 10/11 pounds This is a must do for us every trip.

Does anyone know the price of renting a fishing pole and bait?

They're going to be there Sept 26-Oct 4th. I told her if they are going to book one, they should do it soon. I would assume it's only certain times a day and that they probably fill up fast, since it's your own boat not a party boat or anything.

If the young man REALLY likes to fish,,then keep in mind that yes, a 250.00 fishing excursion is a lot of $$. It also could be a once in a life time event for him.:thumbsup2 When you do a Fishing Excursion, all you have to do is show up at the marina,,they provide everything you need to fish, even the bait, they'll even put the bait on for you. And they provide drinks. The only thing you may want to bring is a camera.

The 250.00 trip, up to 5 people can go fishing. And BDR's idea on splitt'n the cost can be a plus.
There is a afternoon trip that is 175.00, but only one person can go on that trip.

Will they let you split the cost or is it 250.00 each and how many people i thought it was only 2-3 guess it depends on the boat i saw bass boats and saw poonton boats if you are staying in the campground already you could always just fish from shore i have caught bass behind the 300 loop before tey were not huge 1-2 lbs but still fun on light tackle i always bring 2-3 rods and some tackle on every camping trip never know when you will find a good spot to bad they weren't there later i'm checking n Oct 12 - 27 i always have extra gear and would help but sounds like i'll be there after they have come and gone good luck and catch a big one

It is 250 per trip (not per preson) .On the pontoon boats up to 5 people can go fishing. On the bass boats only 2 people can go fishing.

Catching a 10 pound bass is not a regular occurrence, altho it does happen on ocasion.
However, catching a 5 pounder happens often,,,abd when you watch the pros bass fish on TV, the bass they catch are more that size fish,,and it is thrilling!
