Options for family of 5

I am doing some research for a friend who is planning a trip to WDW in February. She's having a bit of difficulty finding accommodations for her family of 5 onsite. What are her options?

Port Orleans Riverside can accommodate a family of 5 in 1 room. 6 if they have an under 3.

All Star Music Family Suites is another good one.

The Polynesian and Contemporary both sleep 5.

WDW resort options for a family of 5 are (from least expensive to most expensive): 1) POR (with trundle), 2) 2 rooms at a Value Resort, 3) ASMu Family Suites, 4) FW Cabin, 5) all deluxes except WL, but at AKL must book a more expensive room, at others a standard view room sleeps 5, WL does have deluxe rooms that sleep 6 but costly, 6) DVC property, 2-bedroom if booking through Disney, can use a one-bedroom if renting points from a DVC owner, but Disney provides no bedding for the 5th person (we did this and gave our three kids (ages 6,8,10) the King bed, and we slept on sofa-sleeper.

Some deluxe resorts sleep a family of 5. The GF, POLY, and CR do. I am at the CR right now and there are 2 beds and a daybed that looks like it unfolds flat like a bed. Definately enough room for a child to sleep in.

The one good thing about the AKL is the bunk beds!!!! My boys were thrilled they didn't have to share a bed

Lucky's Mom got all the ones I know of. Disney seems to frown upon familes with more than two kids

5 in a room are allowed at the BC. We had three adults and 2 children in a standard room (2 queen/double beds and a daybed).

Also consider the Royal Plaza (standard room sleeps 5) and the Doubletree Guest Suites (standard suite sleeps 6) located at Downtown Disney. Both of these resorts offer significant discounts. The rooms and amenities are superior yet less expensive than the above listed Disney resort offerings.

Disney seems to frown upon familes with more than two kids

Try booking at ANY hotel with more than two kids. You will always pay more or have limited options. It's not just Disney!

We did the two rooms at a value and that was nice, especially the two bathrooms- made getting up in the morning twice as quick. Plus with connecting rooms some can nap in one room while the others watch tv.

I've been researching resorts for our family of 5 and its really difficult. We've looked at all the options listed except offsite which is starting to become an option. We didn't do EMH the last time we were there as we had the kids enjoy an extra hour of sleep and we were back to our hotel in time for a late supper. So that may change by the time we go who knows. I guess what I'm saying is offsite wouldn't be that bad if we had to do that. The biggest downside is going to the MK that would take much longer to get there then the monorail, boat or bus from a DW resort. Other then that I don't see a big problem w/driving to the other parks. But if you would use the Disney perks I would stay onsite.

Don't get me wrong I love staying onsite but if I had to stay offsite to be able to afford going I would.
