Let's see, I have about a kabillion dollars (which I earned legally and through hard work), own 50 homes worldwide (which I purchased legally from the fruits of my hard work), more lear jets than most people have sneakers and why should I not travel the way I want?

I wonder if you ask any of those 300 folks who got a cheapy trip off of Mz O if they really cared whether or not she traveled with them what answer you would have gotten?

Tellyou want, you shell out ~5 million dollars to the Australian gvt and local gvt, plus generate a couple of additional million in tourist revenue, we won't complain how you get there.

It doesn't bother me - I wonder if she's flying separately because she wants to arrive before their flight & be there to welcome them. Or maybe she just likes a little piece and quiet. Either way, doesn't bother me.

I am not an Oprah fan by any stretch of the imagination. Don't care for her at all and as a matter of fact, she just annoys me nowadays.

With that said, I think she can travel to OZ anyway she wants. If I had the money she has, you better believe I would be traveling on a private jet. I'm sure all the women that got the free trip aren't complaining at all.

Anyway, being on the same plane, for that length of flight would have been exhausting for her. I'm sure they would have all demanded a bit of her time to talk and take pictures. She would not have been able to relax at all.

she didn't 'shell out' any money it was paid for by the governement tourist bureau--the article says that, or at some article I read seems they think the investment will pa off in tourism

They are hoping for the "Oprah Effect" with regards to Australia. It is HUGE to have Oprah advertise your product.

Businesses have gone from small to millionaires.

I am sure that it is money well spent. Australia has a tourism budget I am sure.

No reason in the world she needed to travel with the audience.

I know many don't care for her.... But IMO she went through Heck (dis friendly) and came out on the other side in a fashion most of could only dream about. If she wants to keep every penny, spend it on more stuff for her, or donate the whole pile - totally her choice - she worked for it!

I would never expect Oprah to fly coach! Not with her $$$$$.

Although I never thought she would camp either and they did a couple of episodes where her and Gail went camping.

Oprah is expected to arrive in Australia either tonight or tomorrow morning. Everyone that she sent to Australia is already there. So I'm guessing she wants some peace and quiet.
