Oprah show the choking game-talk to our children

first let me say i never watch her show, but on vacation right now, and it started out on one topic and ended with another. Ok my extended disney family, there seems to be some game out that we would never know our kids might try, the message was to talk to our kids about it. I guess kids choke themselves to cut off oxygen and it gives them a type of high, they do it in groupd, but there seems to be such an addiction that kids are attempting it on their own and endeding up dead. They used belts, ropes they hang from trees, closets etc. This really rubbed me the wrong way, it is not something or some type of game i would expect kids to get into to. I know it has been a touchy subject in adult intimate private times where it enhances -you know what- i am cuirous if this is where the idea came from or what. I am just distrubed by the idea of it and i wanted to pass it along.

I am 31 and when I was in Jr high there were alot of kids doing that then too. It was a high and sometimes they would pass out. So kids have been doing it for along time. They just got alittle risky on how they do it. I just pray to God that my child uses her brain and never tries to play one of these games.

we can hope but the truth is there is so much peer pressure out there, i am smart and stong enough to make my own decisions but not everyone i s that strong, i remember once my dad beat me with a shoe, my friends were smoking, drinking and having sex and one of his friends came in where we were to get a cigarette and saw me there, true perhaps i should have not been there i mean some were using drugs too, my friends knew what i was about, a strager offered me the pipe and one of my firends very quickly stepped in and said don't offer her that. My dad could not believe that those are things i did not do because my friends did them. My mom had more faith in me then that, i was young like 14 or so, and i could have made better choices but i knew me and knew what i would not do. Some of our kids feel the need to fit in they will go against their own values.
