Oprah will be having a weight loss success stories show. By the way in case anyone saw her show today.....It really changed my life!

Curious as to your comment that O show "changed your life" - if I'm not being too personal - would you share your revelation?

Sure, although, it doesnt have anything to do with weight loss. She had show about woman from third world countries (India and Africa). Anyway Oprah started out by saying " by the time this show is over, You'll all know how lucky your are to simply have been born in this country"., and she was right. I count my blessings. Although, I have an idea of how some of these countries treat woman, she pin pointed two specfic problem. One was dowry in india and what is called "bride burning" and "fistula".
Bride burning happens when the husband of his young bride demands more goods, property money etc. from his brides family, and when they don;t deliver, he literally burns his wife. Dousing her with gas and burning her. This is an everyday practuce and very common. Most of these woman die and if not they will never tell what happened to them.
Fistula, is actually the name of a condition. This occurs when a very young woman is in labor and because there is never any kind of prenatal care things don;t go right. Most of these woman deliver a still born and also rip or tear a hole in there bladder. Of course this will result in a constant drip of urine. Just as a cathidia (not sure of that spelling) when something enters your bladder it immediately comes out. SO, these woman (whom by the way litterally live in huts) become outcast by everyone including their husbands because of the foul smell that follows them. Most of the time they are returned to their parents, who also do not want to be near them. An Austrailain woman visited this part of Africa as student about 30-40 years ago and she wound up deicating her life to these woman (as well as her husband, both are gyn's) she managed to build a hospital and has been performing the sugeries for free for many years. She then sends these woman home in a new dress and hopefully to a new life. Some of these woman have been in alone in their huts for many years.
The story is endless, I could go on and on. They explained how and what these woman have to do in order to simply get to this hospital, some walking for many days. The woman (surgeon) is now 80 years old and thankfully has found someone to succeed her. However they do need money to maintain.
It was very good Oprah, if you have an oppurtunity to watch this one, do so. I felt so lucky and fortunate to be an american woman.
