I need honest opinions you guys.

If I wear this in ivory as my wedding dress:

and my sister, who is my maid of honor, wears this as her dress in pink with a green sash:

will she look fancier than me or will it look like a weird match?

I'm not having any other bridesmaids or anything.. it will be just her and I. I don't think it will look weird but my mom is starting to say they will look weird together and she's trying to talk me into flying to texas and ordering a dress from the same shop my sister got hers from.

I really love the dress I was planning on buying and honestly just felt great finally making a decision about a dress. The thought of having to go and listen to my mom's opinion and my sisters opinion and do more dress shopping makes me want to curl up in a ball....

but if the two dresses are really going to look weird together or my sister is going to out shine me in her "fancier" dress.. maybe I should pick something else.

what do you think?

I don't think it will look weird.. Are you wearing a veil or tiara or both? Your flowers will be bigger. I say it's your wedding. Do what makes you happy. Those colors all seem really pretty together to me.

no veil.. maybe a tiara but I will definitely have something in my hair whether it's flowers or sparkly pins etc.

honest opinion? first, you need to understand - YOU are the BRIDe and absolutely NOBODY can OUTSHINE you on your wedding day!! you could be wearing a t-shirt and ripped jeans but that glow that only brides have - WOW!!!

I absolutely LOVE your dress choice...and your sister's is also very pretty .

but your gown - it's unique and truly stunning. listen to your heart - you don't want to have regrets down the road because you gave in. be a little selfish - get what you LOVE.... it's your day, your wedding ....

Well, I posted on another thread at how pretty I think your wedding gown choice is! Very pretty!! And that bridesmaid dress is stunning! Wow, I've never seen anything like that - I would wear that to a formal event so you know she'll get use out of it after, which is what all bridesmaids want Great choices!!

i for one also love it....but if you are having doubts about her's outshining yours, you could always see about adding little sparkle/gems to the dress...maybe even kinda hidden mickey-ish....but like i said, i think you will be absolutely fine

thanks everyone for your opinions!! I talked on the phone with my mom for a LOOOONG time last night and I decided I'm gonna stick with my dress choice. I really love it and just emotionally and mentally can't handle more looking and choosing of dresses. I'm ordering my dress today!! hooray!

now it's up to me to really KICK BUTT with working out and eating right so the dress will look THAT MUCH better on me in september.
