Looking at Boatwrights, Big River Grille or Captain's Grill. Does anyone have any experience eating at any of them and, if so, how was it?

we have had lunch at big river many times. it is very good and a nice break from the parks. you can't go wrong w/BRG.:yay:

You will be sorely disappointed with Boatwright's. It is my home resort and I loved their breakfasts - but there is only about six choices for dinner and they are very costly.

I got a filet mignon, which was one of the best filets I have ever had in my life. But it sat on about a cup of cheddar mashed potatoes and it was $26.99. No veggies, no soup, no salad, no nothing.

I had a $3.00 glass of ice tea, three glasses of $8.00 wine and a $6.00 piece of pecan pie. The total was outrageous for a moderate resort.

I haven't eaten dinner there again. But as a resort I still love it.

Boatwright's - haven't tried it. Never felt the need.

BRG - Good for a beer and a burger, and that's about it. Stick to those, you'll be fine. Anything else hit or miss, except the meatloaf, which has regressed over the years to a definite miss.

Captain's Grill - It's okay. Decent selection. A little off the beaten path, so not terribly crowded when we have been.

Of those 3 choices, I would say Captain's Grill.

I'd have to agree. We love the resort and have eaten there a couple of times. The food was good but nothing really impressive.

We recently tried the Captain's Grille during our free dining trip and were very happy with it! It was not crowded at all, everyone enjoyed what they got (roasted chicken, crab cakes, NY strip). Everything was very tasty and the service was really good. It was a nice quiet break from the crowded parks and we really enjoy spending time in the Epcot resort area.

I've been to all three (CG and BRG on multiple occasions and Boatwright's once). Boatwright's did not overly impress me - it was fine, I may go back some day, but it is not on the "must do" list. I enjoy both CG and BRG very much. BRG is more casual - good bar food and great beers, so if that is what you are in the mood for, that is the place to go. CG is a little less casual, but still very enjoyable; it has good food and a relaxing atmosphere (since it is never very crowded).

Been to breakfast at CG twice and it was not the greatest...been there for dinner once and it was excellent...killer pork chop!

Given that the filet/steaks at other WDW restaurants (such as Jiko, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Artist Point, etc.) run in the $39 - $45 range (and also come with a side, but no veggies, soup, etc.), I would say $27 is a pretty good price for "one of the best filets I have ever had in my life."
