Opinions wanted--when to go in 2019

My little family (myself, DH, and DS 12) would like to go to WDW in 2019. Our last trip was in 2015. We have two options for when to go in 2019, and I'd love to get some opinions on which would be best.

Option #1: 7 day trip, June 1-8
DS is done with school on May 31, so we would go as soon as school lets out. I know June is hot and crowded, but am hoping to mitigate that somewhat by going early June. We would do all four parks and at least one day at Universal.

Option #2: 5 day trip, October 9-13
DS would miss one day of school, which I'm willing to do. We would get to do MNSSHP, which we did once before and loved. Weather and crowds would be better than June, probably. It would be difficult (impossible?) to do all four parks and a day at Universal.

We are probably going to stay on property for either of these dates, if that factors in for anyone. We have taken my son out of school to go on vacation several times before, but as he gets older, it becomes more difficult, so we've decided we really can't take him out for a whole week anymore.

Right now, I'm leaning toward the June trip---those extra couple of days would really make a difference in what we were able to do. Which would you do?

I'd go for a longer trip every time, and 5 days isn't nearly long enough. Early June isn't horribly crowded because a lot of places are still in school. That is our favorite time to go. October is no longer a low-crowd time.

I would say June too. October can still be hot and humid, so weather isn't really that much different. Crowds would be pretty much the same as well. Go for the longer trip.

Chalk another one up for June. The crowds really aren't horrible in June, especially the first week.

June. More days, especially if you want to add Universal into the mix. The crowds are not bad. We have done that time the last 4 years (having previously been September travelers). My kids are 12 (DD) and 15 (DS). We added Universal the last couple of years, and our kids loved it. I still prefer Disney theming, but it is fun to do something new....which the extra days in June would allow you to do more easily. Have fun planning!

If you do not mind heat and crowds, go in June. We live in Florida and the weather us unbearable in the summer.

My vote is for June as well. I'm always in favor of a longer trip and the weather and crowds in June shouldn't be too bad.

June it is! It's what I was leaning toward to begin with, but wanted to get more input, just to be sure. Thank you, all!

Another vote for June. While it may be warm, the longer trip is always my choice. You should also be there before all the schools have let out, so the crowds may not be too bad. By October, you will have the Food and Wine groups there.
