If you had a choice between wearing a standard school uniform (all wearing the same) or wearing whatever you like to school, which you would prefer?

I think a standard uniform is good,as then there is no rich kid/poor kid thing going on. Everyone is dressed as equals & plus when you are on a school excursion it's way easier for the teacher to keep track of who are his or her students as all are in school uniform.

Plus I think it's good for the general public to see that kids look clean & tidy & a school uniform does that:bounce:

i don't know........ i like the idea of uniforms but you kinda geet sick of it after a while. i had uniforms for three years. (before i moved) i really wanted to wear what i wanted. but uniforms are good in some ways, but bad in others.:p

I went to public school most of my life, but I am now going to a Catholic high school, and we wear unfiorms. Our unifomrs aren't that bad (for unifomrs I mean), but i stil prefer to wear casual clothes to school becuase it is so much more comfortable and going to public school for 8 years, that is what I am used to.

i like wearing casual cloths caus eit shows everyones personality but i would like to have uniforms because it kinda gets out of hand with some kids but i agree that it would make our school look nice and not like bumy and you can't pick on someone for wat they are wearing caus eyou are wearing it too. but that is just my opinion

I used to have uniforms for Kindergarden through 2nd, and I like casual clothes better, but there are benefits to uniforms. Like you don't have to worry about what you're gonna put on in the morning, but it does take away individualism *is that word?? lol!*

I'm in college now, but I would never have wanted to wear a uniform. My junior year they were considering making the students wear uniforms. Pretty much everyone (including the teachers) were against it. For me, it wasn't even about wanting to be an individual and show off my style. I just wanted to be comfortable and know I had the option to wear whatever I wanted (within reason). It's so much more comfortable being able to wear sweatpants and a hoodie.

Whatever school you go to over here in Australia no matter if it is a public school you have to wear a uniform.

I go to a private Christian school and we have to wear uniforms. If i went to a public high school I would still have to wear a uniform.

I'd choose to wear what ever id want because how you dress is how you usually feel inside and you get to be your own individual self! so i boy cott uniforms!

i have been wearing uniforms all my life. it's really not that bad, and you don't have to think about what to wear or people looking better than others. the only bad thing is that we wear skirts and it can get pretty cold this time of year  (i live in chicago). even though it might sound bad if you've never worn uniforms before you get used to it really quick and it becomes no big deal. plus we still get a couple days a month for "casual dress":D

I go to a public high school, but we have uniforms. However, they are almost like half uniforms. It's not everyone wearing the same thing its a garnet or white collared top, with khaki or navy bottom, anything like shorts, skits, pants whatever. It isnt that bad, but defeats the purpose of having a uniform really, cuz you can still tell the rich kid/ poor kid thing. They say its so then you dont have anyone from outside sneaking in without notice, but this is our entire parish (or county for those of you not in LA...), and everyone knows the policy, so someone from another school could, or anyone who knows how we dress. Yea, so its pretty screwed up, but we keep it anyways. As my friend puts it "They say its a 'dress code' but when you ask why you cant where a dress, then its a 'uniform policy'". Yea, just cuz we like messing with our administration.

I am in the middle of my second year of going to Catholic school, and I still cannot get used to how cold it is in a skirt! We have to walk in between buildings too! BRRRRR! At least they let us wear school sweatshirts over our sweaters for those really cold days but it is still cold in a skirt!

Have never worn a uniform in my life and would absolutely hate too! Not wearing a uniform allows me to be more comfortable. It's so nice to be able to wear a sweatshirt and fleece pants or something like that when I don't feel well. What you're wearing can make all the difference in the world when you have to go to school and you're sick. Not wearing uniforms also gives me the chance to be me. I don't dress exactly like everyone else. I wear a lot more sweatshirts then most of the people in my school, but that doesn't bother me at all. I choose to wear what I do. I couldn't stand looking like everyone else, or having to wear a skirt.
