So, DD8 and I are driving to DL in June and will arrive on Sunday the 13th, probably in the early afternoon. We have 4-day PH's for Mon-Thur, plus our GAD vouchers. I don't know yet if we will use the vouchers to get in when we arrive, or just use the fast pass option for 2 of our days in the parks.

What I also can't decide is when to take DD to Goofy's Kitchen. I want to decide soon because my 60 day window is coming up to make ressies.

We could skip the GAD DL entry Sunday, go to Goofy's dinner, use the fast pass option. Or even go into DL, then have dinner.

Or I was thinking about doing Goofy's brunch around 10:30 on that Tuesday after we do MM. With the chance of the parks being crazy busy, do I even want to lose any park time Tuesday with doing the brunch?

I'm just a little worried that with possibly having WOC open, plus a little shorter hours on the 2 Grad Nites, will make getting around harder, and that it might actually be smarter to do our dinner on Sunday and just use our vouchers for fastpasses.

I hope that made sense lol. Clueless newbie :confused3 taking her first trip to DL, so any input would be a great help. :worship:

Hmm...some questions for you. I understand that you have 4 day park hoppers plus your GAD tickets, but how many days are you guys planning to stay in DLR? I presume that you guys are there for 4 full days with the option of using your GAD for a half day when you first arrive or exchanging them for the special GAD FPs, correct? If that is the case, I think it will probably be better for you guys to just enjoy dinner at GK on Sunday and exchange your GAD tickets for the special FPs. That way, you will have plenty of time to enjoy the meal and character interaction and check out DTD. 4 full days at the parks should be enough time for you guys to enjoy most of what the parks have to offer (definitely check the DL entertainment calendar beforehand and plan your days accordingly). Hope you guys have tons of fun :goodvibes

First, for GK, I would go whenever sounds good to you. Even if park hours are shorter for grad nights (which the specific hours for both parks havn't been released yet, right?), it is really hard to stay in the parks from opening to closing every day. It just gets a little tiring on the body and nerves, and a long meal out of the parks is a good thing. It is not like you have to go a long way. I love to spend as much time in the parks as I can, but I like a leasurely meal once a day to have a breather. I suspect that the days that are not grad nights will be late hours in June, so you will probably want to take a break from the park at least for a meal, and maybe a nap. An 8 yr old really can't do 14 or 15 hour days in the park very well.

I think if it were me, I would eat someplace fun Sunday evening, GK or someplace in Downtown Disney then have an early sleep so you are well rested for Monday morning. I don't know how long you are driving, but that can be tiring.

Just remember when you are there to go with the flow. If your DD is getting too tiried and cranky, take so naps during the day or shorten your days. Whatever you don't see, will be an excuse to come back :yay:

Ahh...Thank you. I think I was starting to lean toward getting the special fastpasses, and doing GK for dinner on Sunday. I just wanted some input so that I knew it wouldn't be a bad idea or anything. :)

Oh, and we do have just the 4 days planned while down there, with a half day Sunday. Sorry I wasn't more clear about that. I do plan on taking midday breaks, and ending the day when DD starts to get tired. Except, of course, for one night, because I think I am going to try getting us seats for Fantasmic! :cool1: Hopefully the early show though.

Thanks guys!

I was also leaning towards Sunday, personally. This year the grad nights MIGHT turn out to be a blessing in disguise. A ton of people are going to want to visit Disneyland to see World of Color, and I don't see how World of Color can run for the general public during grad nights. Thus, your grad nights just MIGHT be less busy compared to other days.

Have a great trip!
