Hi all... I am trying to plan a last minute overnighter with my 2 sons (6&8) on their last day of school and I am at a loss when it comes to which good neighbor to stay at. I have searched the DLR hotels, BWPPI and HoJo's, but they do not have anything for the night that I need... I am looking for a nice clean place for us to stay the night that is fairly close to the hub…

Of these 3, which would you choose Or even better, which one would you NOT choose…

1) Park Vue Inn
2) Tropicana Inn
3) Carousel Inn

Thanks in advance!!!

I can only speak for the Tropicana since we stayed there for the first time three weeks ago. It is clean and close. Breakfast is muffins, danishes, juice, coffee, apples and oranges. Our room was very small for the three of us and very outdated. Other than that it was a place to stay. Pool was small but nice. DH says he won't stay there again, he would like to try somewhere else. We are going to try BWPPI next time we stay off site.

I stayed in the Park Vue mid May for one night. We had a Bunkbed room. The Bunks were STURDY!!! I actually slept in the bottom one with my major bouncing about DD7 above me and slept like a log. The room is small....but I wasn't planning to do any waltzing.....?
Pluses, and these are great. 1). Ihop next door 2). Right at the Pedestrian walkway. 3). They let you leave your car in the lot, the day you check out until midnight!! So walk to the park the next day!! 4). Morning continental breakfast, not good, but free!!
Negatives.........................1). Our room, 208 had a VERY strong odor...brought it home in our suitcases. Pretty gross, but you got used to it quickly.

Planning another 2 day trip in December...may stay there again!

I've stayed at both Park Vue & Tropicana and my vote's for Tropicana. The rooms were spacious and clean. The continental breakfast was your usual fare of cereals & pastires and the pool was decent sized. We had a bunkbed room at Parkvue and would not get that again(way too small for our family of 4). The hotel itself was clean with a decent continental breakfast. We'd probably stay here again, just not in a bunkbed room.

We have stayed at the Tropicana and the Carousel Inn, CI was far better. The rooms were bigger, the service better and a far better breakfast. The Tropicana has a better pool complex, the CI one is on the roof and was a little small. Both had a fridge/freezer and microwave, CIs however were bigger in both departments.

I don't know about the Park Vue but all handily located for an easy walk to DL

Park Vue has had some sketchy reviews in the past. Check tripadvisor.com and mouseplanet.com for reviews.

I've stayed at the Carousel and was quite pleased. It's close, nicely decorated and inexpensive. The only drawback for me was that they didn't have a hot tub. Other than that, it was nice.

Thanks for all of your help! I was torn, but decided to book a room at the Carousel... I am excited and can't wait  They don't have a clue what I have planned for us...:cool1:

I have stayed at all three, but the CI was over 10 years ago (haven't stayed there since because of poor customer service, so I cannot tell you how it is now).

I more recently stayed at the Tropicanna with my mom and stayed at the Park Vue a few years ago with my DBF.

Pros for me:
Tropicanna: Nice size rooms and pretty good continental breakfast. Everything seemed clean overall.
Park Vue: Super close to the crosswalk, the closest of all the hotels near there. Super close to IHOP. Lowest price of all that close.

Cons for me:
Tropicanna: A little more of a walk and pool could get a little noisy.
Park Vue: Small rooms and seemed to be a little worn down, even after the refurbishment they had the year before we stayed. Bed was not very comfy either.

I would stay at the Tropicanna again, but I think I would only stay at the Park Vue if on a really tight budget.
