We just won a RSG week from skyauction. Thanks so much for the info I found from this board.

We will be going on Apr 8 and we can pick from vacation village at parkway 1 bedroom with full kitchen or silver lake resort 1 bedroom with full kitchen. This will be our family's first trip to DW. Which one would be a better choice? We are planning to spend most of the time in DW, don't think we will use the resort facilities much. Thanks for your help.

I would choose Silver Lake just for the shorter drive with little traffic. The back entrance off Sherberth road is open now, making the resort even more convenient. It takes less than 5 minutes to drive to AK. The traffic on I-92 to access VVatP varies greatly and can be heavy at times.

Here is another vote for Silver Lake. I've never stayed at the other resort, but you really cannot get any closer to Disney at Silver Lake. Plus the pool area is nice where you can also get something to eat or drink. In addition, the back entrance was open when we went by a few weeks ago (stayed at Cypress Pointe this time) so the ride to Disney property is extremely short. You will be able to avoid all traffic and lights on 192.

The only thing I didn't care for at Silver Lake was that the entire condo was tile floors - not very comfy, and the fact that there were mirrors all over the place. It was very clean, but seemed cold to me. But we also stayed there through SkyAuction and for the price and location it is a great resort.

Have a wonderful trip!

Another big fan of Silver Lake. We will be staying there for a week this June. We actually love the tile floors - lol, it's easier for my wheelchair (the mirrors I could do without though). The best thing is really the location - you are adjoined to the AKL property and can be to AKL within 5 mins and most other parks within 10-15 tops. If we stay at Orbit One or OLCC we always use this back entrance as well. Have fun.

I'd choose Silver Lake.

We stayed at Vacation Village in mid Feb. The inside of the condo was very nice. However, this seemed to be an old person's paradise and they never left! Parking was just atrocious. I've never stayed at a timeshare in Orlando where I had to walk ages to get to the front door.
