Opinions please on Signatures

A cable modem will solve all your complaints.

I can relate, I was over on the Resorts Board the other day, and someone over there had listed each and every trip they've taken since 1979!

I think that is a bit excessive.

I've also seen lots of clipart that are over the 200 x 200 size we are supposed to be using, and well over the 30,000 bytes we are supposed to not exceed as well.

Oh well, I can remember a time with the clipart police were out in force! Maybe the times they are a changing!

I love seeing everyone's clipart though, and glad we can use it.

Nope I really don't mind.. I love having a place to express my ER Stuff!!! BTW I just updated mine for Chaos Theory!

actually we still do have limits and they are enforced but we can't chase everyone down all the time. I agree with the previous posters, go to User CP, click edit options and turn off view signatures, no more problem!!!!!!!!!!!

When I'm on the road, I use a dial up and I turn off the signatures because a dial up is too slow for this cable modem addicted DISer even without the siggies.

I recognize a lot of other DISers by their clipart but I rarely read all of the text that is posted in signatures, I just skip to the next post.

I think I would just turn off the signatures if I only got 2 or 3 posts to a page.

Signatures doesn't bother me, too much. Though there may be some DISers signatures that I  roll my eyes at

I have siggies turned off, until someone mentions something particular, than I turn them on, view it and, turn them off again. :o
Funny considerering you have two graphics in your own signature... :)

I like reading people's sigs. And since we got DSL I don't mind if they're long. I do try and keep my clipart regulation size and my quotes short. Although I haven't changed my quote in a long time.

You can have clipart in your siggie....but you can also turn it off so that you don't have to look at other's clipart--or your own for that matter.

Personally, even on an old-fashioned dial-up, the pages load rather quickly, clipart included, except when the DIS is having problems.

I think regulation is 2 cliparts at 15 each--or one that is 30,000.

But like I said...I don't think it matters anymore.

How do you know? Did you get busted?? hehehe

Actually, no. I read a post about a week ago where someone was saying they had to reduce their sig image size cause of complaints....

catsrule, when my son Drew sees Simba he goes positvely wild! We can't move off your post for a good 10 minutes, he's facinated with Simba and his blinking collar.

I don't mind the siggy's or the clipart now that I have cable modem. When I had dial up, I had them turned off because it made for a slow DISing experience, and I'm not the most patient person. Now that I'm on cable, I love seeing everyone's clippies.

Drew is a genius! He knows a handsome kitty with a blinking collar when he sees one! :D

How big was it?

I enjoy seeing people's signatures, and since I don't have a seizure disorder, I can even view Simba safely.

Clipart is being patrolled and that is why I no longer have my picture of Nathan.

In my case I just really forgot about the limit. It had been so long since I had any clipart in my sig and in my haste to show off DS I admit that it didn't even cross my mind.

Becka, can someone from the tech board help you downsize the baby's picture so that you can still use it?

AFR - I have had lots of nice PM's from DISers offering to help me resize my clipart but DH insists that he can do it for me but now he just has to find the time. :)

If you go over to the Tech boards, I bet they will have it done within 1 hr.;)
