We are booked on the 11/23/2002 Western (my DD8 cannot stop talking about how she is going to have Thanksgiving with Mickey!). We are confirmed in room 5622. Has anyone had this room or one nearby? I am slightly concerned bc it is pretty close to the elevator banks, but it does seem to have the advantage of no room on one side and no room across the corridor. I'd love your input!

Thanks!

We were in 5622 for the first two of our four cruises. We requested it the second time because we liked it. The elevators are not a problem as they are not as close to the room as you might think. We also would never had realized that the Kids Clubs were on deck 5. I would not hesitate to book that stateroom again.

Would you mind telling me where you were for your subsequent cruises?

I highly recommend deck 5. I've stayed on 5&7 and liked 5 better by far. You have the atrium, kids clubs, theatre to make the floor more interesting. And it's close to restaurants & shutters down & not too far from the fun above, either.

We were in 5622 on our Eastern Magic cruise quite a while back. I was a little concerned because it was the first room in the hallway, but we really didn't have much noise at all. You're pretty much sheltered from the elevators, so they don't cause any disturbance. As you mentioned, there are no rooms next door and across the hall, which contributes to the quiet (you also have only one verandah neighbor, which decreases the chances of being surrounded by smokers if that bothers you). 5650 is my favorite as I like to be as far aft as possible, but 5622 was not bad at all. As an added bonus, the verandah is right above the door that the pilot boat people use to jump on and off the ship. It provided lots of amusement for us to watch them!

Thanks, Barb. DD8 will love watching the pilot boat people. Quick question: on the deck plans, there appears to be "nothing" (it just shows gray space...) across the hall from this room, but obviously it is not "nothing". Can you recall what's over there?

Many thanks for this and your other very informative posts. You're a wealth of information for us compulsive planners!
