I made my reservation for December 1 for the 5:00 showing. We are doing the dining plan, and we are going to eat at San Angel Inn at 2:30.

Here's what is making me a little worried. We arrive on December 1. If I get the flight I want, it we will arrive at 10:44 a.m. While we won't be able to get to our room, more than likely, it should allow plenty of time, right? We are staying at Saratoga Springs. I'm not overly concerned with being able to be in our room before we head off to our reservation. But, do you think there is enough time in there to make our reservation? I'm not worried about being tired, even with our early flight. I'm more concerned about the time.

We decided on the 5 o'clock seating, because I don't want to watch the earlier performances while I am standing in line to be seated. That will happen with the later showing, correct?

And, how long do they reserve the special seating? I was told to be there by 4 for the 5 o'clock show.

And, may I add, that I am so glad that I am not one of those people who has to rely on the people taking reservations to get all of my information. I would go to Disney World just as confused as they are!

10:45 arrive at airport :) 30 minutes to deplane and get bags = 11:15 a.m. :) 25 - 40 minutes to get to your resort (depending on rental car or ME, etc.) = 11:55 a.m. :) Check-in at SSR 15 - 20 minutes = 12:15 :) 30 minutes store luggage or drop luggage off at room (SSR is huge and there's a good chance your room would be ready already) = 12:45 :) 35 minutes Bus to Epcot = 1:20 :) Walk from Bus Stops (entry into Epcot) to San Angel Inn - 20 minutes = 1:40 :)

Giving you 20 minutes to wait at the podium to be seated :goodvibes

It's cutting it close though...If you're flight's delayed or you lose a bag, you might miss your ADR.

I would agree with the above poster you *should* be fine as long as there aren't any airline/baggage delays.
In response to your second question, I was not told how early check in for the show this year(I have the 815pm show). Last year we did not go until approx 30 min before our showing, we did not see any part of the previous show, and did not get turned away because we were "too late". I hope I don't have to wait a whole hour for the "reserved"seating. That sort of defeats the purpose of doing the plan IMHO!

I think you can do it although it might cause you alot of stress. You didn't want to make it on a quieter day? Or is it the speaker you want? You can make this if you need to...but a different day might be more relaxing. Good Luck

Nicole-
Are you renting a car or taking ME? If renting a car, I'll give you our family's strategy. I make the car rental reservation in my name, we deplane and head for the baggage claim. DH & DS wait for the luggage & I get the rental car (usually Nat'l or Alamo so I can grab it quick). I drive over to arriving flights, put the car right near the door where the baggage claim is, then DS lets DH know I'm waiting. If the luggage hasn't come out then DH comes & waits by the car & I pull them off (he is notoriously bag about remembering what our bags look like!) and DS pulls them out to the car. We are usually on our way 30 mins at the most after the flight arrives.

I'd head over to SSR, and see if the room is ready. If so, then head over & just unload your stuff but don't unpack or just do it really quick. If not, you can leave it in your car or give to the baggage people which takes 5-10 mins at the most.

Again, with the car you might want to drive to Epcot, or you can wait for a bus. I don't know how busy it will be at that time of year, but our bus service @ SSR in June/July was not terrific at all. If you see ypur bus go by before you get to the bus stop you are better off driving, that was our strategy.

Thanks for the advice. We won't have a car, and I realized there was no real reason for making the reservation that day except that I like the freedom of not being tied down by reservations and wanted to get it done with. I COMPLETELY changed, and we are eating at Le Cellier at 5:40 on the 3rd. Thanks again.

I totally know what you mean about being tied down by schedules, and I may cut back ours ... With arrival 12/14, departure late 12/23, we've got:

Saturday, 12/16 Hoop de Doo
Sunday, 12/17 Le Cellier/CP
Wednesday, 12/20 (a.m.) - Princess Tea Party at GF (me and DD only)
Thursday, 12/21 LTT and MVMCP
Friday, 12/22 Luau

I'm psyched, but I'm thinking HDD and Luau are too much with everything else, and may cancel one.
