So, I just booked my lovely indulgent ticket on Lufthansa business class for later this year (hoping that I can actually plan ahead for a vacation if schedule allows)

Right now it looks like I'll be in Germany for about 3 weeks, with part of that trip a visit to Paris and of course DLRP.

So - would you go for Hallowe'en and larger crowds, the first week of Nov (I assume no Hallowe'en and no Christmas decorations) with low crowds, or the second week of Nov with holiday decoration and some crowds?

Last year I was in Paris for about five weeks Nov/Dec so saw a lot of the holiday decorations and absolutely love them. Weather was great in November, about 10-15 degrees most days.

If I recall, the pumpkin men are being replaced this year, correct? If it's more Stitch oriented now at Hallowe'en I don't need to go, but then again I've never seen that time yet at DLRP......

So, opinions????

Hmmm. tough call :)
I'd discount 1st week in November as I'd be disappointed I'd missed Halloween and to early for Christmas season. Now Halloween is on our to do list but I'd prefer it early with less crowds. 2nd week in November is when we have been before for Christmas season. We'd all go back then so although it is a close call Christmas season for us :thumbsup2

Having tackled both I would be hard pushed to choose. Halloween is great but I really enjoyed the Christmas lights and what have you. I'm hoping my next visit will be early November 08. The theming in both is good.

Bonfire Spectacular is on the 5th, 7th & 9th November this year, so earlish November isn't totally devoid of entertainment!

Personally I would choose second half of November as I prefer the Christmas season. It might even be a bit quieter than the other times, as the UK and France seem to have various school holiday up until the second week of November.

Well I personally would not choice late October if I did not have school kids as it is half term and will be extremely busy. I would go for Mid November as Christmas season is wonderful.

hmmm I was thinking the latest dates for the holiday decorations - seems that you are mostly leaning that way as well!

Having been at both times I would definately choose November:thumbsup2
