I would like your opinions please. We are contemplating a quick trip (4-5 days). Our options are Jersey week (Nov. 9-13) only 4 of us, one room at POP. or Nov. 23-27 (Thanksgiving) all 5 of us, 2 rooms at POP or 1 room at POR. Characters are me, DH, DS (18), Ds (15) & DD (8).

Is it cheaper to get one room at POR or 2 at POP? Are there any discounts for 2 rooms on 1 ressie?

Any thoughts, deeply appreciated.

Hello to another SJ resident! We have been many times Jersey week and only once thanksgiving. I would pick Jersey week anytime over thanksgiving for the crowds alone. It is definitely more crowded thanksgiving! Whatever you decide have a great trip!

Thanks Sandi, that was my next question! The crowds! We have been Jersey week also, and it was more crowded than we were used to because we usually go in July or Aug (teacher's summer vacation!! :teacher: ) . We have been during Christmas once long ago, and it was horrendous! But during Thanksgiving, our oldest DS could go with us. Life is full of so many dilemmas!! :confused3

Thanks again!! deb ::MinnieMo

If there was nothing to consider but the crowds, I would also choose Jersey Week. We have been there both weeks and Thanksgiving is definately more crowded. With that said, I also know how you feel about leaving a DS behind! Our #3 DS is 19 and in college and still wants to go (hooray!). So we are going the week before Christmas (coming back home on the 23rd) so he can come with us. We are leaving for the airport right after his last exam on December 15! We ususally go in very low attendance times. I know crowds are up, but at least we'll be together! In fact all four of my kids (DS's 25, 22, 19 & DD16) have agreed to come! I am so excited to have all of them with me again!

If you decide on Thanksgiving, just read up on tips for which parks to go to on which days. Never MK on Thanksgiving day! Go with the flow and have a great time!

We will be at Disney Nov. 10-19. Is this Jersey week?
We are from Ohio :confused3 .
We went a week earlier in 2003 (I think it was Jersey week) and found the crowds to be great, except the Magic Kingdom on Saturday. We went from 15 minutes (the longest) to 30-40 minute ride waits. And of course my oldest DS birthday (10th) is on Saturday and guess where he wants to eat - yep the castle :faint:

:guilty: Jersey week is the week that many Jersey families travel because the kids in public school have off Thurs and Fri for NJ State Teacher's Convention. It tends to be somewhat more crowded than before or after. One year we ran into 5 different families from our hometown! :wave:

This year Jersey week will end on Sunday the 13th, because convention is late, and Veteran's day is the same time.

Soccermom, I know what you are saying about the college kids!! That is why I think we have decided to go in January over MLK weekend,(yea, I know that's a little busier too!! :confused3 ) What can a teacher do, but travel on holidays and summer :teacher: This way I can still go to convention in November, and will have more time to save for the trip!!

Thanks for all replies.

DisneyCrazyX5, have a good trip, I'm sure things will be fine!!

Thanksgiving is wonderful. It is crowded, but we made very good use of EMH and FP. It is worth it to see all of the decorations and to be there for the hoildays-so festive (Jersey week is just crowded, not festive). For your groups's ages, I would suggest getting two rooms.
