Opinions on too much MK?

Finally getting a ressie for CRT has thrown the rest of our schedule into choas. Through various rearranging, our issue is that we have MK for 2.5 days out of a 4.5 day trip and I am wondering if that's too much MK..my daughter's 4 years old and I have tried to character it up for her.

Monday we have Crystal Palace for lunch and Liberty Tree for dinner ..both in MK so we might as well stay there all day.

Tuesday is MNVSHP so that's a MK day which includes BBB and some meal before hand.

Then Wednesday, we're off to Epcot and Noway in the morning for Princess Breakfast, but the only spot we could get CRT was for that night for dinner..so that's back to MK. Originally we were going to make that our Epcot day and have Mexican that night in Mexico..but CRT threw that for a loop.

So..that's the scoop..if it's too much MK, I can try to move Crystal and Liberty..but I hate to miss those..

So, since I have never been and don't know what I am missing..what's my downside?

Thanks.

I don't think you can ever have too much MK for a 4 year old! My girls are 9 and 5, and we seem to always be going back to MK. You will likely be doing a lot of rides over and over again anyway.

Two considerations for you:

Do you have Park Hopper tickets? You will need a hopper to go from Epcot to MK. If you don't have hoppers, have you considered 1900 Park Fare at the GF for the Cinderella dinner?

CRT is not considered a character meal at dinner. The Fairy Godmother is there, but Cinderella and the other princesses are not. Did you know this?

My DD5 said having breakfast with the princesses in Norway was the "bestest day of her life!" :goodvibes We also love lunch at Crystal Palace!

I agree you can't have too much MK we do eight day trips and four of our eight days go to MK alone. If nothing else check the restaurant board and in one of the stickys at the top is a cancel transfer trade adr section and you may be able to change CRT days w/ someone there or just keep calling. What time is your ressie for at CRT for the dinner seating I believe it is only the fairy godmother and the mice cinderella may be downstairs taking pics I don't know for sure but I do know that no other princesses are there if that is why you are eating there.

I agree that with little ones, you can't do too much MK :)
We always spend half our time there and then split the other half between the other parks.

I agree 100%. If you have park hoppers no big deal just go for your dinner. If it's the character meal you want though, I agree switch to 1900 Park Fare. We love it there and they have recently added the step-sisters to that and they are a hoot :rotfl: . I am also of the mind that there is never too much MK, for us there usually isn't enough :lmao: . It is by far our entire families favorite park hands down!

Last year I took my daughter, then 5, to her first trip. We spent the first day at MK and went back for the MVCP 3 days later. Towards the end of the trip I left two days open to do what she wanted and she chose to go back to MK one of the days. I think by breaking it up you'll actually get everything done you both want to do and see plus it will a little more relaxing...the different times you are there you actually be catching the 3 o'clock parade, halloween parade and if you can, catch SPetromagic at night. There are also different firework displays for the ticketed parties. Each trip to the MK will present different experiences for both you! In a nutshell 2.5 days is not too much!!!

Hi all. Thanks for the feedback and for relieving my fears about MK.

I am aware that CRT is not dining with Cinderella. But Cinderella is her favorite so we are going for the picture part alone..that's worth it for her. If we took a picture and left, it would be worth it. So, that's fine.

I am still trying for 1900 park fare especially because we are at the GF, but so far no luck. A wonderful CM said that with a party of 2 and a little girl, if we were down there at 4:25, they might 'slip us in' at 4:30 when they open. But she may not have realized it was free dining time so that probably won't be the case so I keep trying.

I do have park hoppers so epcot to MK will be no biggie. Our time is at 8:45 pm..so may post to try and trade..but as long as she is still going strong, I will take her to see Cinderella.

You guys have been great since I started posting my newbie questions so thank you thank you thank you all so much.

My daughter is four and we have to hit MK every day. We go to a park in the morning and then we almost always make an appearance at MK so she can ride HER rides. As far as she's concerned you can never have to much Magic Kingdom time. LOL

If you are mainly interested in a picture with Cinderella, you can usually find her in Toontown in the tent. We waited 45 minutes in line in April, but DD5 got to see Sleeping Beauty, Belle and Cinderella one after another after one wait in line. I questioned whether or not it was worth the line as we were standing in it, but it definitely was. Each princess had a little conversation with DD that she still talks about, and we got pictures with each.

I think Cinderella would also be available for meet and greet during MNSSHP, but perhaps someone else can confirm that. She was available during the Pirate and Princess Party, but we had already seen her so we didn't wait.

I totally understand having to see a particular princess! We missed Snow White at MK when we went in April. I knew she would likely be at the Norway breakfast, but I was prepared to stake out Germany since Snow White is DD's favorite. Not only did we see Snow White at Norway, but she was the best ever! DD was totally star struck - she couldn't make a word come out of her mouth! :)

There is no such thing as too much MK. At least in my opinion.

When DD was 4, there was no such thing as too much MK! Same when she was 5, 6, 7 and probably 8.

Over the last year, though, this are changing... I just took her last week and she picked only a 1/2 day at MK--and 2.5 days at Epcot--including lots of time shopping in the WS. I was shocked!

OP, I've seen some of your posts and just smile. I'm sure you and your dd will have a great trip. DH travels a lot and WDW doesn't bring out the best in him, so I've been taking my dd by myself since she was 2--and we always have a great time! Enjoy!!

Stitch and Pooh.

Thanks for the advice on the princess sightings. I'll play it by ear and see how it goes. But those are very good points that I will keep in mind.

Merriwind..thanks for the very nice comment. You made my day. I have to say that I was sent to this site to get some of my questions answered since a lot of my hometown disney friends didn't have the answers, I have met some of the nicest, happiest people. Disney must truly be the happiest place on earth.

Thanks all..

I am good with tons of MK. I am happy with our dining selections and we get in Sunday evening about 8:00 so we're going to head to DTD and maybe eat at Wolfgang Puck's Express... I am happy with photo pass. I am working on a stroller and things are moving on.

All thanks to the great people here at DIS.

While I agree there is never too much MK, I'd be alittle bit worried about the MNVSHP and pushing a 4 year old too hard. Given it is an extra ticket and you can get in around 4 on it, you may want to opt for something else during the day. Low stress/energy level if that is possible for a 4 year old to save your daughter for the night activities.

We are going in October with DS4/DD4 for a week. We have reservations to do the Alice tea party the day of MNVSHP. Our thoughts were that it sounds like alot of fun for the kids (DW is alittle upset she can't stay and play too, but that's another story) and it is something to do without being exhausted from a day at a park. But like I said, we have a week so missing a park on 1 day is not a big deal.

But maybe when you said "all day" for MNVSHP you didn't really mean before 4.
