I've been here a while, and I honestly can't remember seeing a "Yea or Nay" thread on Teppanyaki. I saw it briefly on the Unwrapped show last week and thought it would be a nice change at Disney since the kids like going to the Japanese restaurant at home.

But what do I drop in its place? Maybe we'll do it as a lunch. Are the lunch portions too big to...oh, I don't know, have enough room to hit WCC for the skillet at dinner?

We love Teppanyaki! It's a must do on each trip.
We have always done lunch since the portions are HUGE and the price is slightly less at lunch. I always feel that since it's mostly vegetables that I'm usually hungry for dinner. We always do the first lunch at 12pm.

We recently ate there for the last lunch reservation of the day. It was great! There were only a handful of people eating at the time. My GF and I shared a table with a mom, her two kids and the mom's mom, who worked in HR for WDW. The rest of the tables were empty. The food was terrific and the portions were pretty big for lunch. You definitely won't go away hungry.

While the food was okay, nothing special, our chef put on no show for us whatsoever. In fact he was rather dull. So if you're going for that experience, you'll probably be disappointed, as we were.

for us the food was just ok, and the show, well the local places seemed to be better. We wont be returning.

We don't like it and would not go back. IMO the food and the value is much better at Benihana's and the other chain restaurants.

It is my DD12's favorite place. We have eaten here the last two times we went. She asked to go again in September, but there are just so many other places we would like to try in Epcot. I think we have her talked in to trying something else. We have enjoyed it, just want to experience others, too!

Has always been a must do for our family. Went in April of this year, and was very disappointed. Lousy show (I watched some of the other tables and they were no better) NO MORE FRIED RICE. First time I ever came away hungry from the place. :confused3

The show is always worth it but they recently removed lobster as a choice from the menu and I found the shrimp alone a mediocre replacement...JMO.

My husband and I are not fans of the place. We have ate at a few Teppanyaki restaurants and are not impressed with Epcots version. The food is okay but the chefs we have had do not put on a show and we actually have had a really rude chef who actually offended most of the people at our table. One time we met a great family who took a trip to the World with their grandmother that was in remission. The next time we went we sat with this really obnoxious family and they actually ruined the entire meal.

It sounds like a hit or miss. Yikes! We are trying it for the first time in Sept.
(I will keep my ADR, I will keep my ADR, I will keep my ADR)

OK, I think I got past that moment!!

Well, we LOVE it. This is our one-and-only must-do restaurant and have eaten 3 times since 2001 and will be eating there again in 31 days! We love it. We also have a joint close to us (in Columbus, about 90 minutes south) that is good, but this was a restaurant we tried on our first trip and go back everytime. We go for dinner, and the worst part for us is that even with an ADR, we often wait 15-20 minutes for a table. But we give it 2 big thumbs up for entertainment, food, and we've had great experiences with our tablemates!

Thanks for the replies. I think it would be too much food to eat the skillet that night. I'm planning on our dinners and we pretty much want to keep WCC, Boma, 'Ohana and H&V (see a trend? :teeth: ) intact since we're going for only 4 days.

We're going again in June-07, so I'll plan for us to do it then if we don't in December.

I knew I could count on you guys. :thumbsup2
