Opinions on Super Brownie Pan As Seen on TV

I don't really think its a one shot kitchen contraption. You can use it as a regular baking pan without the insert.

If I didn't already have 3 9x13s that I love I would buy it. However did someone mention a smaller size? I only have one 8x8 pan and I might do that.

Hi! Not sure if it's the same one but it seems to be on sale at www.yourstoreonline.net for $14 and buy 2, get 1 free. I've never used that site but just googled perfect brownie pan and ended up there. I haven't pulled the trigger myself but this would be perfect for a party I'm having soon. There's nothing I hate more than cutting brownies!! I was planning on using my bedbathbeyond coupon for the huge cupcake cake pan. I didn't see the brownie pan at my Michaels. Good luck!!

I bought my sister one that night a Walmart. I could have gotten it cheaper on-line but it would have cost more with shipping.

I try not to buy items that are only good for one thing -- they take up too much space in my kitchen.

If you want individual brownies, why not use a muffin tin? You could even use muffin papers in holiday colors/styles.

Changing the subject slightly, I am certain my family woudln't like this. We're gooey-middle-of-the-pan people, as opposed to crispy edge people.

Us too - I often end up throwing away the corners and the funny part is my kids still want this pan. Ah.. the power of the television commercial. :rotfl:

I'm thinking this would be great for our icecream brownie cakes. We always slice the brownies before putting the icecream on top, then letting it all set in the freezer for about 20 minutes for the icecream to harden back up a bit after spreading. We add mini chocolate chips and icecream toppings before serving.....delicious birthday cake substitute. We usually do these in the summer....and this would be great since the brownies would be precut for us and all we'd have to do is spread the icecream and toppings. Plus the majority of us are edge people in this house LOL

ohhhhhmygosh. That sounds so so so so so so good.

We're all "edge" people here & have the zig-zag pan & it's great! Too bad DD moved out & since the pan was hers, she took it with her. Waaaaaaaaaaah!

However, when I saw the commercial for this pan with the insert I had to get it for her because she likes to take treats to work. It will be easy to serve because the rack turns into a holder for the pan which pops the brownies up for easy serving!

I got them from QVC because a lid was also included, although I'm waiting for replacement lids. I got an email from QVC saying the lid wasn't quite right & replacements were being sent within a certain period of time.

PP's are right, too; plastic knives are the only thing that cuts warm (or cool) brownies decently. I never thought of using a muffin tin for brownies but do use them for mini meatloaves!

I saw those, for those of us who like the "edges" brownies this would be really great. However I can't commit to a one shot kitchen contraption, and I'm out of room...but I think your DD would love it.

For me it is certainly not a 'one shot' kitchen contraption. I also use it (IT WORKS GREAT!!!!) for breakfast bakes- you cannot believe how easy it is to make a breakfast bake for when company comes when I use this! I also use it for pasta bakes - everyone's piece is already cut, I don't have to 'get it all even' myself. I use it for cakes, all bars, Jell-o jigglers!!!(in the fridge), It works really well for jello jigglers- I don't end up with kids who are fighting about who's piece is bigger!!! I also use it with corn bread and other things.

Hmmm I wonder how this pan would be for meatloaf. We all like the meatloaf edges!

I have it and like it alot. My only complaint is that the brownies are cut into very small pieces. I'd like the dividers to be a little bigger. It sounds better to eat ONE big brownie instead of TWO little brownies. :lmao:

I agree, less calories in 1 brownie right :)

Yep, I've seen a similar pan in a 9x9 size. There's a round pie tin one as well. If you search for "slice solutions" you should be able to take a look online. I haven't seen them in any of my local B&M stores, but I haven't really been looking either.

Edited to add: for those who like middle pieces... couldn't you bake without the insert, then just use it to slice the brownies after the fact?

.

I received one of these for Christmas (DD insisted I needed one) and was surprised that it actually worked as shown.
But, I do not like how dense the brownies are. Next time I will not use the entire bowl of batter to see if they still rise and are not quite as dense.

Thanks for all the tips on different uses for it. I am going to try some of these. Will also be purchasing a second one. 18 brownies is not enough when making them for a school treat.

For those of you that have already used this pan, can you please tell me more about how difficult it is to clean up the insert? Isn't it dishwasher safe?

I've used mine twice since xmas and I am still torn. Granted I have only made butterscotch blondies but because the batter is SO thick for those some of the "brownies" rise really high and others are lower and they all end up with higher edges and lower middles... plus they seem a bit more greasy because you need to spray with cooking spray. Guess I need to try with something other than blondies (but they are SO yummy!)

To answer the pp's ? about the dishwasher... all 3 pieces of mine have gone in there twice with no problem. :thumbsup2
