opinions on split-stays

We do a split stay on any trip that lasts more than a week. It is a little bit of a hassle to pack and unpack and extra time, but it makes it feel like two vacations.

We tried VB for the first time on our most recent trip and really enjoyed it. Now I'm afraid our split stays are going to involve multiple moves, as we may want to fit in a few Vero days between the other resorts.

Tried it for the first time last year and it worked great. Spent 3 nights at AKV, then moved to SSR for 4 nights. This trip doing 2 nights at AKV in a studio and then moving to 1 BDR at BCV for 7 nights. Both times the day I transfer is the same day I get a one day rental car reservation and go to IOA. So I have bell services transfer my luggage, and I'm off property all day anyway so I'm not waiting around. I then go grocery shopping on my way back, and check into my new room, very easy.

Another fan of the split stay but completely agree it is a personal preference and can see how it could be considered a hassle. We have done it the last couple of trips and enjoyed very much experience of a couple of resorts in one trip.

We did split stays when we first bought to save on weekend points (would split Dolphin/BWV), always doing the weekend first. Now we split between BWV/BLT, doing BLT second because it has more bathrooms in the larger villas, and it is difficult to move 'down' to less bathrooms. My boys also are split between their favorite resort (luckily it's the 2 we own) so they like to trade off. We also pack light on the food, so there is little for us to move.

I am doing a 3nt/4nt split, 1st BLT then Kidani. It will just be my youngest dd and I, so it won't be to difficult to move. I am packing light for this trip. I decided to make it a split stay because we are arriving in the evening and mk has Emh hours on our arrival night. We will check in and then walk right into mk. The next day, we plan on sleeping in then swimming at the Poly and eating at Kona and Whispering Canyon. We are going to do Epcot our last day at BLT. At AKV we are going to do AK and DHS and enjoy the resort. For this trip, a split stay works. If there were a lot of us with a lot of luggage or if it was a shorter stay we probably would stay at 1 resort.
