Opinions on Sandy Ridge community?

I was quoted a fabulous price for a 4 bedroom home in Sandy Ridge....from their website it says 10 minutes to Disney.

Has anyone stayed in this community? It is a short easy drive to Disney? Is there any construction happening in the area (this house was built in 2006 so I'm concerned whether the community and surrounding communities have construction that will make driving a pain, or noise a problem).

Can someone remind me of the website to check the owner and be sure that they are legit.....and what else should I check out? The website is owned by the lady who wrote me.....she's listed on at least two of the vacation rental boards that are popular on DIS.


The only downside is that it's rented on either side of our dates....and we'll have to cut one day short...but we can stay with Grandma in Tampa on that first night, so it's not too big a deal. Is there any concerns about checkin being the same day someone else is leaving? Check out is 10am and check in is 4pm, so I'm assuming that is more than enough time for them to clean.

What's the normal method for getting keys when they have a local management company? Do I need to rush to get there right at 4??? Do mgmt companies close at 5 like typical business?

Not sure which of the hundreds of management companies you have, but if you have to pick up keys at an office they will have an after hours box that you can access with a code...

Most of the homes now have a key lock box at the house...but you will need to check your property owner. Homes are cleaned only once so if check in one hour or one week after cleaning, the place is the same. So home will be cleaned some time between 10 and 4.

Thanks Grandpa Ted...found your other post and it's got great information! Now I have to get up the nerve to actually book this house...still nervous about sending a couple thousand dollars to a stranger, lol.

Hi, hundreds and hundreds of people do it ( rent from an owner or management company) every week and we get very very few complaints or concerns on this board...go for it and have a great time...Ted
