Opinions on my Touring Plans for Epcot

Hi!

i would really appreciate your feedback on my TP for Epcot for may 21st. Crowd level 6

We will be arriving at the park at around 4 pm (AK in the am ) so i will be using FP+ for Epcot but it seems like i don't need the 3 of them.

Spaceship Earth 4 pm
Sunshine season early dinner 4:30 for about 50 mins
Turtle talk with crush (FP+???)
The seas with Nemo
Figment
Living with the land
Soarin' FP+
Mission space green (should we do FP+) ( should we do orange? first time visitors, 2 kids)
Test Track ( for husband and grandpa)
Illuminations


Yes this is only for the future world, i don't think we will have time to do anything else. Unfortunately although i would love to at least walk around the world showcase.

What do you think of my plan?

This may take you till longer than 4:30pm. I'd say 4:45pm to be safe.

Sunshine season early dinner 4:30 for about 50 mins
(say 4:45-5:30 is eating)

Turtle talk with crush (FP+???)
The seas with Nemo
I would reverse these. The exit for Nemo drops you into the waiting area for Crush. FP+ Nemo for between 5pm-6pm Say you can get both done in an hour, it's now almost 7pm. This FP+ will give you the goal of being "to your Nemo window" by 6pm, which should set you up to be able to hit your bigger attractions later.

Easy, 30 min.

Living with the land
Soarin' FP+ Shoot for your Soarin FP+ between 7pm and 8pm?

Mission space green (should we do FP+) ( should we do orange? first time visitors, 2 kids)

If you are doing Green, don't FP+. If you are doing Orange, then yes FP+ for sure 8pm-9pm. It is like a big gravatron, so it simulates some G's by a spinning motion. You don't feel the spinning, you just feel the G-forces pushing on you as you take off in your simulated ship. The Green simply drops the actual motion and it's quite bland for anyone who would go on Soarin or TT.

Test Track (for husband and grandpa)
May have a hard time finishing TT and still making the fireworks. If they go "single rider" you can expedite this and be better off.

You basically have a plan to do every ride in future world in 5 hours without the benefit of a rope drop, and getting in line right before close doesn't help either cuz you want to catch Illuminations. Very ambitious! You do have it being a Wednesday during school season, and SDMT having just opened at the MK so most families will be spending extra time at the MK and less at EC.

I'm thinking your plan may be a big aggressive. I would expect SE to take about 45 minutes to an hour from the time you are through the front gate at Epcot. Turtle Talk will eat some time as it is another 15 minute show and you will have to hang out for a show start time. With FP+ I would say you are looking at 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm as the only slot for Mission Space, so you are looking at Mission Space, Test Track, travel to the WS, and finding a spot for Illuminations all between 8:00 pm and 8:55 pm as I believe Illuminations starts at 9:00 pm on May 21st. That's probably way more than a bit aggressive.

Best case I think you leave out Turtle Talk w/Crush, FP+ for Soarin' and Mission Space, and then have a choice between Test Track or Illuminations to end the day but I don't know that you will get both of them in.

You didn't specify, but I assume you are staying onsite and will be able to prebook FP+. If not, forget it. The big question will be how long the line is at Test Track that evening. If it is 90 minutes+, you'll have a tough time fitting all of this in without using the Single Rider line.


If it were up to me I'd do the following to get your plan done:

4:00 PM: Enter park

4:05 PM: Spaceship Earth FP+ (4:00 to 5:00 return window). Standby line may still be a 10-15 minute wait this time of day. Using FP+ will make sure you get on as quick as possible. Total time (including ride time) here should be 20 minutes or so with FP+

4:30 PM: Seas with Nemo and Friends. This time of day with a lower crowd level it should be a virtual walkon. Ride is only 5 minutes in length.

4:40 PM: Turtle Talk with Crush. Figure 25 minutes for this experience. It could vary depending on how the show start is timed with your arrival.

5:15 PM: Soarin' FP+ (5:00 to 6:00 return window).

5:35 PM: Sunshine Season dinner. If you are on schedule, want to eat earlier, and think you can eat in 30 minutes or less (quite possible at Sunshine Season), you can flip this and Soarin'. Soarin' is right there next to the eating area, so if you do decide to eat first you'll know you just need to be done by 5:55 PM to make the tail end of your FP+ return window.

6:15 PM: Living with the Land FP+ (6:00 to 7:00 return window). FP+ here may only save 10 minutes at most this time of day, but it will make sure you stay don't lose precious time. If your schedule has slipped some, you have a lot of leeway before the close of the FP+ window.

6:40 PM: Journey into Imagination. Should be a walkon with 0 wait.

7:00 PM: Test Track. Here is the great unknown. If 60 minutes or less, use standby line. If more than 60 minutes, have them use single rider line (if you can. Are only Husband and Grandpa riding this? What's everyone else going to be doing if so)

8:15 PM: Mission Space Green. Should be a walkon at this time of day.

8:30 PM: Head to World Showcase and find a spot not downwind

9:00 PM: Illuminations

10:00 PM: Arrive back at wherever you are sleeping that night.

10:05 PM: Collapse

I might consider sending husband and Grandpa over to test track after lunch instad of going to see Turtle Talk, the seas and Figment, then meet back up for the Soarin FP+ and I agree with the others...I don't think you will make it to your 4:30 ADR with a 4pm arrival. You would be cutting it tight if you arrived at Spaceship Earth at 4 pm, much less arriving to Epcot.

The OP won't have an ADR. Sunshine Season is the quick service food court in the Land pavilion.

Haha I will be collapsing for sure. This is great. I think I am going to do this. Yes we are staying on site. TT I thought husband and grandpa and the girls and I can go find a food spot for illuminations.

I dont want to leave turtle talk out, we really want to see that. what other show/attraction can i leave out?

TT - my husband and dad can use single riders line if that would save us time. i am ok with that. The girls and i can save a spot for illuminations while they do that. Do you think that is a better idea?

That being the case, I'd flip Mission Space and Test Track in the plan I posted as long as are on schedule and get to Mission Space around 7:00 PM.

That way everyone can ride Mission Space together and you should be done with that by 7:20 PM or so. Then, you can start walking towards World Showcase from Mission Space. Husband and Grandpa can split from you at Test Track and you can continue on to World Showcase. They can decide based on the time and the posted Standby wait if they can safely make it out in time for Illuminations. To be safe, I'd only get into the Standby line if the posted wait time would get them on the ride by 8:30 PM. Otherwise, they should ride in the single rider line.

Meanwhile, you and the girls should be in World Showcase by 7:45 PM. You'd have some time to maybe do the Mexico boat ride (which will be right there) before staking out a spot for Illuminations.

So sad! Figment is one of our favorite rides! We're planning on it several times. Not for adults, but for anyone with kids 3-9. The song is magical and my DS7 still hums and sings it all the time and we haven't been since 2012.

I know, I know, some ppl are still mad that it got changed from the original score... not starting a debate about that.

I would never recommend a family going with young kids skip this ride as it is the most young-kid-appropriate ride in the park (along w Seas and Turtle).

I think I'm going to skip living with the land. I saw videos and really didn't catch my attention. I mean I would love to see it all but I don't have time so Living with the land won't make the cut.

Agreed, our daughter loves it and loves the interactive area at the end.

If Figment were in Magic Kingdom, we probably would skip it, but being that it is in Epcot, there aren't a whole lot of attractions for that age range you mentioned.
