any opinions??

If you want to have a good steak place that isn't the Concourse, try Le Cellier, I had a FANTASTIC fillet minion there! It is 1TS on the DDP. Or you can try the Yachtsman Steakhouse, they are absolutely terrific there.

Great choices! Yeah, I might recommend trying something a little different if you're going to be at Epcot for dinner on two separate occasions. Le Cellier is a great place to get a steak. My father says that the steak he got there was one of the best he'd ever eaten. But, again, you made some great choices. We love Chef de France and Sci-Fi is a lot of fun!

My thought is that being your first trip I wouldn't commit to going to any restaurant twice.

Everyone's tastes are different and you may not love Les Chefs or Concourse. If you don't, what are you going to do about the second reservation there?

I'd make reservations for all different places, and if you love something and want to give up another experience to try the place you love again, then call and see what can be done. If you can't switch - no harm done - maybe you'll love the new place.

If you don't like something and have two reservations there, but can't switch, you may be disappointed having to go back again.

Lots of great choices!

However, instead of repeating a couple of them, I recommend you branch out and try a different place each night. That way, you'll get the widest possible experience and have an easier time of picking new places and old favorites on your next trip.

MelissaE's suggestion of Le Cellier and Yachtsman is a good one; you can substitute those for your repeats of Concourse and Chefs de France.

If you're not on the Disney Dining Plan, or you don't mind spending some money out of pocket for a meal or two, keep in mind that there is a Schulas steakhouse in the Swan (or is it the Dolphin? I can never remember). The Swan and Dolphin are not Disney-owned hotels, and none of the restaurants and eateries in them are DIsney-owned, so they're not available on the Disney Dining Plan, but there are some terrific options there that are worth exploring.

I'm looking over your plans again and I"m wondering what your park plans are like. Are you going to want to leave the park for dinner and hop to another park. If you are going to spend the bulk of your time at Epcot (and is that three dinners I see there?), then you should be fine. But hopping from one place to another takes time and if you are having a great time in the Magic Kingdom, you don't want to have to look at your watch to say, "oops, time to leave." You know?

We actually cancelled a dinner at 1900 Park Fare because we wanted a full day at Hollywood Studios. It was really nice to be in the same park as our dinner vs. leaving one park and going to another.

We had dinner at Kona in early January and DH had the filet. He said it was the best he'd ever had, very tender. It's served with mashed potatoes that are great and you get to start with the yummy bread and butter. And it's at a monorail resort.

I totally agree with this. There are so many great Disney restaurants, you want to try as many as you can. Save the repeats for your second trip, then you'll know what you like and didn't like.

You may want to try Shula's at the Dolphin for steak. It is very expensive, but very good! The Yachtsman Steakhouse and Kona are also very good choices.

If you want to eat twice at the Contemporary, I would recommend California Grill. Their steak was also very good, plus you get the best view in the world!

Another great steak is Mama Melrose's Steak Gorgonzola.

Le Cellier is booked solid all week! can't get in!

We tried to base the restaruants by where we will be for the day ie: Sci-fi @ Hollywood S.
Where we will be each day!
Friday - chef De France (Downtown disney, we arrive this day)
Saturday - Concourse (MK. they close at 6 for some function )
Sunday- Tusker house (Animal Kingdom)
Monday-Chef De France -again (Epcot)
Tuesday- Sci-Fi Dine (HollyWood Studio's)
Wednesday - Coral reef (epcot/MK again)
Thursday - Concourse again (Water Park)

I'm not too crazy about tusker house..but its the only thing in AK.
Not sure aobut Sci-fi but its in hollywood studio's..any suggestions are great!

Hi,
Sounds like a great list!
Our kids had a wonderful meal and great kids experiences at:
Whispering Canyon (don't ask for straws or ketchup)
Liberty Tree Tavern
Poly Luau
Hope this helps!

I would change the day of arrival to Yachtsman steakhouse, especially if you're not touring a park that day. Why waste a days admission just to eat?

In studios, you should do Mama Melrose with a steak lover! The Steak Gorgonzola was great! Wait - I sound like a broken record :rotfl:

i do know that Concourse is closing for good in the near future....not sure if that will effect your plans....

we have eaten there and thought it was very good. A little pricey for the noise, etc. but service and food were excellent.

We are going to try the GF cafe' this year. have heard good things about it.

:scared1:

I would also only do one meal per restaurant per trip. There are so many different places to chose from. You would never be able to eat at all of them in one trip. This is vacation and although I know that you said DH likes steak, what do you like? Mexican, Italian, Sandwiches, Barbeque? Being on vacation is doing something different and trying new things. What about Karter? (from your sig) Don't you want to do any Character Meals? I would try to do at least one. What happens if you don't like one of the restaurants? You'll be stuck eating there again later. Not really likely to get an ADR after you are there. Just my thoughts.
