Opinions on mopping systems (a la swiffer?)

I had the Clorox mop and felt like I was just pushing the dirt around. My kids broke it and even though I was mad at the time, they did me a favor, because I bought the Swiffer Wet Jet and like it so much better. Now, having said that...I still think a good old fashioned scrubbing does the best, but I use it for in between times or if I'm just to lazy to scrub by hand.

I use a Rubbermaid mop and water. Our neighbors own the flooring store and told me that those cleaning solutions are not good for your floor, it also will null and void any warranty. We get Armstrong floors and you have to use their cleaning solutions, although I've had our kitchen floor for two years and never purchased them. I just use really hot water. On our hardwood floors I do occasionally use the Swiffer wet pads on the Swiffer dry mop, but usually just water there too. We have a lab and with the yard defrosting I mopped our floors SIX times the other day between the time the kids got home from school and dinner time.

I guess when I am thinking Swiffer, I am thinking the little push mop thingie. (Such a technical term I know. )
I didn't know enough about the Wet Jet to know who made it.
Kallison -- Know what you mean. It doesn't help that my kitchen floor is currently off white. It looks clean for about 2 hours. Both of my dogs have black fur, which really help immensely too! ;)
I have thought about the Clorox mop, etc. I have also heard (nothing official) that the Swiffer and all are bad because they leave a film.
I keep thinking rather buy the $20 cleaners and not be happy to just pay the $175  for the Floor Mate.

One of my clients owns the Clorox...mop thing...I hate it..seems to move dirt around....

I have the Swifter dry and use the wet pads for cleaning my own pergo flooring....works quite well...I figure I don't need to spend extra money on the Wet jet....

The Dry Swifter is great on hair and fine dirt....
