Hello everybody. We are staying at CSR this December and decided to try their restuarant Maya Grill for dinner one night. I have read mixed reviews about this restuarant and just wondered what experiences my fellow dissers have had there. Thanks everybody! :goodvibes

we ate dinner there last year. We thought the food was great. It is my daughter's favorite restaurant and she also asks to go back. The severice was just ok but I think it was just our server didn't have much of a personality. I would reccomend it.

You will read mixed reviews on every restaurant at WDW, from the lowliest counter service place to the nicest signature restaurant (except maybe V&A, which everyone seems to love). If you have never been there, don't rely on what others say, try it out and decide for yourself.

madalex -- I like to see what everyone has to say about restaurants. And, I DO make many of my dining decisions based on what I read!

We used to love Maya Grill when it was serving Nuevo Latina cuisine. It's now just an average steak and chops house. If we go, we order only appetizers and desserts, which retain some flavor of the original restaurant.

Well what would be the point of disboards like these if we didn't get to hear others opinions of places to stay, eat, etc......just wondering. :confused3 I do like to hear opinions from others (obviously) and even though it might not have a bearing if we cancel our ressie it does give me an idea of what to expect to a degree. For instance a common negative (per allearsnet)I am seeing on the Maya Grill is that it takes a while and so with that in mind we made our ressie early so we weren't stuck there the whole evening and if by chance our dinner does not take a long time well then we even have more time in the evening now!:thumbsup2

I had dinner there in august and it was good, breakfast was bleh stale waffles!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you need a reservation for Maya Grill in June? We will be staying at CSR and wanted to have this as an option.

We are actually going in December and were able to get the ADR we wanted. As far as if you "need" a ressie in June I know it will be crowded. I guess I am just too type A and like to have my ressie just for the ease of it all. :)

this is my own opinion..but dh and i had breakfast there..bleck!! The pepper market was sooooooooooooo much better!! But, like everything else to each is own!!

Thanks for the feedback. Our ressie is for dinner that is unless of course by some miracle we are able to get into T-Rex but shhhhh don't tell DD it will be a surprise as she is my little archeologist/madscientist......:rotfl:

We had dinner there and enjoyed it. Our waiter was fantastic, the food was in the good/great range...I don't remember feeling like it took very long, but we ate early and the restaurant was only 1/2 full.

We weren't on the DDP that trip and the bill just about knocked us both off of our chairs:eek: but when you're on the DDP, I'd say it's worth a stop. Especially if you're already at CSR!
