Does anybody know anything about the Liki Tiki Villas Timeshare? Good or bad opinions?

We are considering staying there for our visit this January. Our home resort is Marriot Grande Vista, and we like it there, but we wanted to try something new. So please share any opinions! Thanks!

It can't compare to your Marriott - aren't there any DVC resort or other Marriotts?

Is it THAT bad?? I know that the Grand Vista is a nice resort, but the Liki Tiki sounds really neat. I'm not expecting it to be better, but will we enjoy our stay there or do you think we will be really disappointed? It just looks like there is alot of fun things there that our kids will like. (bumper boats, fun pools, putt-putt)

For what's available on the dates we want to go, I'm basically going to choose between the Grand Vista, and the Liki Tiki.

So which should I choose?

DB and his family stayed there two years ago and loved it. Their only complaint was they said the walls were thin. They claim they could hear the TV next door. Other wise, the place was clean, the kids loved the water park, and DB was quite fond of the pool lounge.

It was really nice, our only problem was we didn't spend as much time there as we'd like .

As long as you get in the newer area close to the water park it is great.
The water park area is great for kids although a little crowded during peak season. The accomadations have always been clean and in good repair. We have gone there 3 out of the last 4 years, and our kids who are 12, 16 and 18 last time we were there still love it. We bought DVC, so no Liki Tiki this year and my family is actually mad at me

Have you tried Marriott Horizons? We own DVC but it's on my list of a place to stay if we find a great deal, which I see all of the time, since it supposedly has so many fun activities for kids.

I remember seeing a post a while back about Liki Tiki, with photos, that permanently crossed it off my list....I have always had good luck at Marriotts.

no it is not that bad.

but the Marriott are top of the line - Liki Tiki is not. Now that doesn't mean it is not nice. It is very nice. but it is not top of the line.

there are other Marriott, and you could probably get a DVC resort.

I would even go with the Sheratons and Cypress Pointe before Liki Tiki - they have less complaints. the same complaints I have seem about Liki Tiki are the pool, this place allows pool hopping, and when they have a sale pitch - the extra amount of cars.

you resorts has 9.10 on tug, this resort has 7.80

now some people complainted about bugs - but hey it is Florida even DVC and Marriott will have bugs on occasion.

going from a 9.10 of out 10 to 7.80 out of 10 - well I don't think you will be happy
