Hi,

Is it worth paying the extra money to have breakfast in The Kitchen ?

It only adds $25 on to the room rate but we would still have to pay extra for our child so not sure wether to do it or not.

Suggestions anyone ?

Ps. We are not huge breakfast eaters, maybes coffee, juice, fresh fruit and egg

Wouldn't it be cheaper to catch a light breakfast at a place in the parks or City Walk if breakfast is offered at one of those places? I can't see paying for a buffet if you are only going to nibble.

i would suggest you not do that package.
the kitchen breakfast buffet is $16.95 per person. plus tax.

they accept the discount cards for the 10%
child cost is $7.50 for 12 and under.

if you will be eating breakfast daily and it is only the 2 of you, one adult and one child, it is not worth it.

i love the kitchen buffet as it changed last year.
they have everything there you could want at different stations. they also have a couple of chefs for special orders for eggs, omelettes, etc.

Thanks for the quick replys - you guys are very knowledgable.

I should have explained that there will be 2 adults and the child is age 13, still didnt realise it was a buffet..........

I guess its a nice buffet though - not fond of them in other places.

Maybes I will just ask Hubby and daughter to decide, I seem to have made all the holiday decisions so far !!

We really aren't big bfast eaters at home, but on vacation we love bfast buffets and PIG OUT. And the buffet at The Kitchen is really good. If you are still nibblers on vacation, skip the bfast package and go to the bakeries in the parks. Or you can buy granola bars, cereal, muffins, etc. at Emack and Bolio's just across the hall from The Kitchen.

Have you thought about booking a club room with either the AAA discount or super savers rate? The breakfast package is rack rate plus $25, so you aren't really saving any money.

When are you going? If you can give us your dates, I am sure someone here can tell you your options with prices. :) The prices vary so much by season, which makes it hard to give accurate information.

Thanks Disney Freakk and others for replying.

We are just thinking of staying for one night this year as we short on time ( week in a villa on Anna Maria Island to go to first ! )

The night we have in mind is Sunday 19th October and we require 2 rooms - one for myself, DH and DD and the other for DD and boyfriend.

We are in the UK and am not sure how to get the best rate, I just used the Loews site and put in my loews first no as I am a gold member.

I did try putting in AAA under codes as we have AA membership in Uk which I think is the same.

The best rate I got was $264 per room for a standard room.

Any ideas greatly appreciated !

ps. We dont have to stay that night either it just seemed to fit the bill, we can stay from Fri 17 - Tues 21st October

I just checked aaa.com and an RPR standard room comes up for the 19th at $219.60...if that helps. I don't think the AAA rates always (ever?) come up on the loews site.

We stayed at the HRH in July and I swear we were at Emack and Bolios
every morning. They have great muffins, bagels, cereal, juices
It was perfect for us, we just took the food back to our room to eat while we were getting ready.
And Emack and Bolios also has THE BEST ice cream I have had in a long time!

you can order from the menu.
you don't have to order the breakfast buffet.

if i want to eat light, i go with coffee and coffee and more coffee.........no food.

I would try what d4est suggested if you are willing to stay at one of the other resorts. But if you have your heart set on the HRH, it looks like 264 is the best price. With the Halloween horror nights being such a big event, all of the AAA discounts at the HRH were booked months ago. Sorry I wasnt any more help.

The cheese blintzes at the kitchen are the freaking BOMB!!!!

ap and aaa cards.

you can get 10% discount using them at the kitchen.
and the parks, etc.

Actually, I got $251.10 to come up for the HRH for the 19th. Not a huge difference, but money in the pocket.

let me through this out there.

sometimes, the ap rate will drop a lot at the last minute or 2 weeks prior.

and the aaa has been known to drop in price but ap more than others drop.

when vacation/travel agencies bookup a block of rooms and don't sell them as a vacation package (thinking aaa and orange vacations) they release them back to the hotel a couple weeks prior which gives that hotel many rooms to unload. by this time most people have already booked their trip and do not recheck the prices.

when many rooms open, the hotel wants to fill them.
it usually happens sometime in september that i know of pre hhn time.
(it can happen during other high times also)

that is when you will see a drop in rats for hrh.

i know this happened in 03 and 06 as i modified my room rate at hrh then.

i'm not saying this will happen again for october, but it has in the past.

i always say, book your room to secure a place to stay.
then check frequently and modify as available.

Thanks Macraven..........for some reason I didnt know I could use my AAA at the Hotel restaurants.....this will be quite a savings for my family. Do you think I can use it for our Simpsons Breakfast, Marguaritaville and Mythos?!! Oh I am so happy I joined AAA.

i have used the aaa at mythos and city walk resturaunts.

i don't know about simpsons breakfast.

if no one posts about it, send a quick email to gs to inquire if you need to know in advance.
or better yet, if you call (and that is suggested now as it is a hot place and all want to eat there) ask them when you make a ressie if the aaa is honored.

What/where is the Simpsons breakfast? Do they visit each table? My kids would love this! :cool2:

I don't think the AAA rates always (ever?) come up on the loews site.

Try entering your search, then when prices come up click on New Search and enter AAA under promo code. This is how I search APH rates on USO's website. I find it easier than AAA.com.
