Howdy, all! First time poster....this is a wonderful site!! :wave2:

My boyfriend and I are traveling to DW in July with our combined 4 girls....ages 10,13,13,15. Since we are a larger group and there are not many Disney resorts with suites we were thinking of staying at the DoubleTree Suites. Has anyone stayed here before? What did you think? Where can I find the best rate for this resort? So far, the cheapest I've found was on mousesavers.com for $139/night.

Thank you so much for your replies!!

We stayed there for three nights in Dec. '03. My kids (DS 7, DS 4) loved it. The thing they liked most was the tv in the bathroom. We had a one bedroom with 2 beds. The living room had a couch, coffee table and TV, and the kitchenette had a small refrigerator, sink and of course table. The pool was ok (no special theme), but there was also a hot tub. The service was very good. The only problem we had was they charged us for phone calls we didn't make. Apparently, if you let the phone ring too may times it counts as a call. They took the charge off. We never ate there but did use the shuttle, which was good. Let me know if you have any specific questions. I don't remember what we paid, but you might want to check hotelkingdom. A better option for you might be to rent a two bedroom timeshare unit.

Finsgirl - Hi!

We have stayed twice at the Doubletree Guest Suites Maingate, by marker 12 on the 192. They are very nice, the only thing they didn't have which other suites sometimes do is a washer/dryer in the condo. Even the 3 bedroom suites don't - but there is a launderette on site. Personally we prefer doing laundry each day before we go out so for future visits we stayed in a 3 bed villa and a 3 bed townhouse in the Villas of Somerset resort. This year we are staying at Lake Berkeley in a 3 bed place.
Are you from the UK? We are, and we are going with Travel City Direct for the first time as we have to go now in the school hols - they are very, very good on price.
If you decide on the Doubletrees you shouldn't be disappointed.

Good luck!
