I know in the past this meal has had less than perfect reviews. I was wondering how it has been lately?

Sorry I can't help with an actual review, but we have ADR's for this breakfast for our September trip. I've some really good and some really, really bad reviews. I thought I would try it for myself and see how it goes.

Not sure my friend should take the chance. This is her first trip ever and since she has never eaten anywhere I would hate for her to get a bad meal! Anyone have a recent review?

It was the worst meal of my past trip and probably the worst meal I have had at WDW. I actually enjoyed it when I was there in 2000, but this past Dec the food was not very good and the characters were very slow in getting to our table. For comparison, my other character meals in Dec. were at Crystal Palace and Ohana's. I am not real big on buffets but Donald's was bad. All my other meals during the week were all very good - probably some of the best food I ever had at WDW.

Interesting thread.

We went last October, and I loved the breakfast. Just the right balance of food, and Characters. Plus the donuts are a nice touch..

We are going back in May, and plan to stop there for breakfast again.

I've also heard mixed reviews, but decided to give it a chance on our Aug. trip. My son is a big Donald fan so I couldn't pass up the opportunity since he's hard to find. Breakfast is breakfast right?

We have been to this breakfast every year for the past three years, and enjoy it. The food is pretty much the same as all the other breakfast buffets--as someone noted, breakfast is breakfast. But we find the character interaction to be good, and we have always had an excellent server.

For what its worth, I have heard that the time of day that you book this restaurant may be a factor. We have always booked for opening at 8AM, when everything is neat, clean, and fresh. However, friends who have been at the same time we did said that on a previous trip they booked it at 10:30 and enjoyed it much less. They said it seemed much more chaotic at the later hour.

we have gone at all different times ......at least six or eight times.....and we all love this place.......the food and the characters and the helpers........we love it

Having been there four times in our previous five trips I cannot imagine a bad review here. The food is breakfast, so I don't expect too much. But the service is always great, and the characters are wonderful. As a previous poster said, it may be the time of day, which I have never thought of. We always go on a non-EMH day, usually Sunday, normally slow at AK, and book for the earliest possible time. We are always done by 8:50, and can just wonder around waiting for the park to open. It's a great experience.

Like Any Other Place At Wdw You Will Get Mixed Reviews On It! I Have Been There 3 Times And Have Enjoyed Each Time. Service Was Great--some Servers Are More Interactive Then Others. Food Is Your Standard Disney Breakfast Buffet Offering, And Charecter Interaction Is Good. My Advice To Anyone About Any Disney Eating Spot Is If You Think You Would Like To Try It, Try It And Form Your Own Opinion!

It was the first TS meal I'd ever had at Disney (and only Character meal I've ever had!) when we went Christmas 2004. We loved the food, loved the characters. No complaints here!

Went about a month ago. Food was OK. The character interaction was lacking. They went so fast from table to table that you could barley get a photo. Plus we where ready to go by the time they even got to our table. I have been to other character dining and I found this to be my least favourite. But you really need to try things for your self. If I would have listed to all the negative revues about HOOP DEE DOO we would have never gone and we had a blast. Good Luck.

We've had breakfast at Donald's 5 times because younger DS is a huge Donald fan. We've always had a good experience. We've never found the characters to be rushed, although that's a common complaint I've read here on the boards. Some of our servers have been better than others, but we've never had bad service. The food is typical breakfast-buffet food, nothing special, but the buffet has always been clean and well stocked.

I've only gone once and found it to be OK. We usually stay on a monorail line resort and find it to be a long way to travel for a breakfast.

I've found by the time you get there, be seated, have breakfast and wait for character to visit the table almost all the morning is gone.

Animal Kingdom is one of those places that on a hot day it feels 10-20 degrees hotter. I don't like to waste hours of cooler time on a breakfast. Maybe if they had lunch I would return.

We enjoy having breakfast at Donald's and haven't had any problems in the past. We are scheduled to go again in a month or so as well.
