Opinions on DCA strategy

We will start one of our mornings at DCA, a non EE day. We always plan on being at the gates about 45-60 minutes before opening (although 8am openings are brutal). We haven't been there since GOTG opened. I was thinking about a few different ideas for first thing in the morning, keeping in mind that multiple RSR rides are more important to us than multiple GOTG.

Get GOTG FP, then go ride RSR (what kind of wait time should we expect for this)? Grab RSR FP (assuming our window is open) then ride GOTG with our FP. Maybe grab another GOTG after our RSR window opens, assuming they are still available.

Or, if RSR line is long by the time we get there after getting GOTG FP, would it be better do TSMM and/or Soaring, then grab RSR FP, then ride GOTG?

If DH goes to get GOTG FP, and we get in line for RSR, can't he go through the single rider line and wait to meet up with us? I seem to remember being able to do this in the past.

I'd love to hear your "first two hours in DCA" strategy for non EE days. Thanks!

You mentioned running off to get the fast pass. Isn't the new FP system on-line now? I thought that it was. But I haven't been there in almost a year, so I could be greatly mistaken.

Gotg fp would be the first fp I would get if your wanting to ride it. Then I would head over to cars and wait in line.

If the line is too long get in single rider line if your kids are big enough to do that.

Guardians fp usually run out by 10 or 11

That hasn't launched yet, and it's $10 per person per day when it does.

I read a few more posts, and saw that it hadn't launched. I didn't know about the having to pay option. I don't like that.

You strategy says you will go BACK and get another GOTG fastpass after RSR is open, they will be long gone by that time. I would lean towards a TSMM Fastpass in that spot.

And MaxPass hasn't started as of yet, your post didn't mention what dates you're going. Depending on your date of travel it might be out by then..

I'm trying to plan my DCA day as well. I'm almost wondering if I shouldn't grab a FP for gotg first thing, then get into standby to be able to see the queue.

Then either grab another fp for gotg, or racers. Or just go ride racers.

I'm also considering getting into standby for gotg right as the park closes. That way I can see the whole queue and the line should go faster once the remaining fp users clear out.

Here you go...

- Get to the park 30 minutes before it opens.
- Get in line for the GTG FP as soon as they let you into the park. Have one member of your party get FP for the WOC (available before park opening) if you plan to watch that show then they can come back and meet you back at the GTG FP line.
- Park opens get the GTG FP then head to Paradise Pier through Bugs Land and ride TSMM first, then Screamin, Funwheel, Goofy, Swings, Jellyfish, Zephyr (Save mermaid for later).
- RSR will be the next FP, ride Bugs Land attractions and Monsters Inc. until its time to use that FP for GTG. Remember, you don't have to use that GTG FP when the FP Return time starts. Try to experience the attractions mentioned before the GTG FP expires.
- Next FP will be for Soarin. Use the Stand By for Grizzly if the line is 30 minutes or less. If not wait, and grab FP for it next.

Since you want to ride RSR multiple times I would grab FP for GOTG first and then get in line for RSR. I would say if your husband wanted to go through the single rider line to meet you that would probably work, so long as you weren't already on the ride before he got there. Then grab a FP for RSR as soon as you can, recognizing that when you do you will have to wait another two hours to grab another FP because wait times will be long out. Or if you are going after Max Pass comes out you may want to consider purchasing it for that one day, depending on how big your party is and your budget and getting the FP for GOTG while walking to RSR.

Honesty single rider rsr its usually less then a half hour
