Opinions on crowds this September

Since no AP rates were released for September, I'm wondering if the crowds will be larger than normal for this Sept.

Anyone have any ideas? Heard anything about what to expect? Any CMs out there who'd like to comment. Just wondering. We'll be there from 9/17-9/23--YEAH!!!

Also, how might the Pin Trading event at Epcot the weekend of the 20th influence the crowds? Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks.

I am wondering the same thing.

We will be there 9/18-9/22. Should we do EPCOT on Thursday, the 18th and avoid it after that or will it not draw huge crowds?
This is our first September trip so I don't have any ideas about the crowds. We usually go in early May which hasn't seemed too bad. Let's hope for the best!

Thanks

I'll be there, mostly for the pin event. While the crowd won't be any where near summer or holiday crowd levels, I do believe that the crowd will not be a normal Sept. crowd. Not just because of the 3 day pin event, but because of the FTP. Believe me, the pin goers will not be affecting alot of the rides, but then again, like us, we have non pin trading family members going with us and they will be out there at the parks. Though we are going to the event during the mornings at EPCOT, we will be at the parks riding the rides and watching the shows and I have already made my PS arrangements so that we get into the favorite restraurants. So IMHO, while I don't personally see long lines for most attractions, I also don't anticipate walking onto a ride either. Let's hope I'm wrong, because I don't like long lines either. Somehow, Disney will keep us pin traders in long lines to buy the latest releases, so that will be enough lines for me. We our booked at the A/S Movies, but hear there are blocked of rooms available for the people attending the event at the Sports and Riverside, so those places will have a higher than usual pin collectors lurking around. And, of course, 2 Disney sponsored meets, one at the A/S Sports food court on Thursday night (18th), and the Contemporary on Friday night (19th) near the stores.

One more note: this event is a closed event, so there will be alot of folks hanging around at EPCOT and other places to trade for the pins that cannot buy. And we plan to zip out of EPCOT quickly on Sunday because at 11:00 AM, it opens to the public and after past experiences, we don't plan to stick around to see that.

This is our first time going in September. We really have no idea what to expect--crowd or temperature wise. (We usually go in mid-October. October is usually great weather--not too hot, cool nights, crowds bearable.)

Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

15 days to Seaworld--18 days to "Mickey's House" :bounce:

I too normally go in October or Novemember when weather is great. I am really regretting having booked 5th thru 9th of Sept.
after booking and paying I found out Night of joy is two of those nights. and it is still very hot and humid.
Never again in Sept.

I just got back today and the crowds have been great. I only had to get 2 fast passes in the whole 2 week trip and that was for mission space and test track. All the other rides I just walked straight on to or had to wait less than 15 mins. That was in all the parks!!

DS and myself will be there from Sept. 27 till Oct. 4. I was hoping for not a large crowd either. I'm going with the "We're going to Disney" and it's going to be fun no matter how crowed it is, and I know it won't be like the summer crowds. So let's all go and have the best times of our lives because we're going to DISNEY. :)

We are going September 27 to October 1. FTP may make it a little more crowded then usual, but from what I have seen, there is still plenty of resort availability. I am now renting points to stay at a Home Away From Home (BWV, cool, huh), but just 1 week ago I was able to get AAA rates at all of the participating resorts. I really don't understand why WDW didn't give any September discounts and that's why I pulled my little tizzy and didn't book through them, lol. It appears that is "plenty of room at the inn." I just honestly don't think it's going to be overly crowded. I love to walk on rides, don't get me wrong, but I have been to amusement parks that were dead (like Magic Mountain end of season) and actually didn't enjoy it as much. There was no life to the park. Now that isn't to say I like 1 hour waits, no way. I wouldn't worry too much about September. It still will be alot slower than summer.
