Does anyone have opinions good or bad on Chefs de France? We have never been and are considering going on our upcoming trip.

We enjoy it alot. It is one of our favorites.

It is one of our favorites as well. Excellent food and superior service. It is a class-act all-around. We're going again in January, and expect it to be one highlight of our trip.

DH and I dined there on Thursday night. (CP Package)

We had a wonderful time. The meal was excellent and the service superb!!!

I had the onion soup, filet, strawberry cake with butter cream.

DH had the cheese plate (good, but too much for one), filet, chocolate mousse.

I ordered my filet medium rare and it came out more well done. The flavor was okay, so I just decided not to say anything. Our waitress came over after I had eaten about three bites and she asked me to cut into the middle of the filet...She said she MUST take the filet back as it was not correct. About 15 minutes later manager came to table with new filet (perfect and melted in your mouth like butter) and he apologized and brought an extra glass of wine for me.

We had a very nice evening and loved the food.

Three out of the four of us thought it was great. Our DIL thought it was very good, but not great. I'd go for the French onion soup and creme brulee alone.

Good service, too.

The food and the variety thereof is always good. On our last trip in October, I thought the waiter was horrible and appeared frustrated and overwhelmed. You could tell he was having a hard time of it. He wasn't keeping up. He never apologized, either. Many in his section started to talk to one another about it; it was that bad. It wasn't that busy. We had an early dinner time. My guesstimate would be it took us twice as long as it should of for our meal.

Usually, we go here every time we visit. Now, I'm thinking about not returning. I want good food and good service at Disney sit-down restaurants. I will probably give it one more chance.

Wonderful food. We were there Monday for the CP pkg, and I had the tomato & goat cheese flatbread as an appetizer, their version of duck ala orange, and a dessert of ice cream in a cream puff shell with bittersweet chocolate sauce. We also had lunch there on Wednesday, I had the escargot and filet of sole. All the food was fabulous, service was excellent.

We had a late lunch--2 pm--at Chefs de France the 1st week of this month. We actually made the ADRs that morning around 10 am. Could've gotten in sooner but we prefer eating a large lunch later.
We found Chefs just 'okay'--excellent service (Christophe was our waiter), lovely atmosphere, we dined in the 'sun room' area; good menu selection.
What did disappoint, somewhat, was the food. It was decent, but missed the mark. we must try it again, but it won't be high on the list, but we will make it a point to give it another go-

We began with the salmon tartare appetizer, nice presentation, & pleasant, good portion for two. We also ordered la Planch Campagnarde, a large assortment of French cold cuts, a sliver--& I do mean sliver!-- of pate(which was tasty) some nice cheese & very delicious greens. We thought the sliced meats were much more greasy than they needed to be & lacked the distinctive flavors which should characterize them, although by no means nasty, just not the quality we expected. we anticipated enjoying more cheeses than the 1 small 'wedge' we did get. However, the cheese was flavorful. the platter definately would do 4 diners nicely

DH ordered the seared tuna, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Being a guy he could've eaten a larger portion, he said the orzo was humdrum.
DS16, no finicky eater, ordered the sole with a sauce containing mushrms. He said it was just okay, but did eat it all. I tasted & found it 'fishy' smelling, which really shocked me--though certainly not obnoxious--& over cooked(actually dry on the outer edges). You must know that we grew up by the sea & are used to some terrific seafood--extremely fresh & whipped up by terrific Italian, Portuguese & fishermen/women cooks--so we are spoiled!

My entree was the 1/2 chicken, rotissed. The chicken was flavorful, but very definately on the dry side--which, fortunately, I favor, but DH said it was too dry for him. The tomato was braised so perfectly, a memorable standout. The mashed potatoes, presented in a timbale manner, were also, good.
the folks at the next table ordered the French menu & it looked yummy. The soup, huge sandwich all looked fabulous, the brulee a good portion. We also noted some diners ordering the Macaroni & cheese & raving about it.

We skipped dessert at Chefs & walked over to Boulangerie Patisserie, a new favorite. Yum for the Napoleaons, cake of the day & pralineige!

Have a Magical trip!

We have eaten there twice, the French Menu, and found it to be perfect...maybe a bit too much food. We are thinking next time that only one of us would order the French Menu and the other would get soup and creme brulee and then we would split the sandwich and salad. Our servers are always very polite and attentive. I seem to recall that the first time we went the service was very prompt. The second visit was slower, but actually I would expect slower service in a sit-down French restaurant!

We will definitely return.

We ate at the Chefs de France for the first time in Nov. We loved it and plan to make it a part of our stay in Dec. 2006. We are real "foodies". We thought the service was top notch and the food was---well we are still talking about how delicious it was!!!

Two thumbs up! We ate there for dinner a few weeks ago and loved it
The service and food were great. I would definately eat there again.

I enjoy Les Chefs de France a lot, but I prefer it for lunch rather than dinner. Lunch seems to be less crowded, more relaxed, and I love the French Menu!

Love it. I get the ham and cheese sandwich, without the ham. It's so good. I wish I knew what kind of cheese it was. It's so light and fluffy. DH got the vegetarian lasagna last week. He's still talking about it, so I guess he enjoyed it. :goodvibes We also love the wine, of course, who wouldn't? And the rolls. The creme brulee is our choice of desserts, although we did get the $15 dessert tray once, all I can say is OMG.... It was incredible.
