Please choose a girls name and a boys name that you like.:goodvibes

Maria

Charlotte

Michael

Henry

Any of those would be just fine, but of the ones listed I personally like Charlotte and Michael the best.

I like either of the girls names equally but would choose Henry over Michael any day. I have known four Michaels in my life and they were all quite awful. I'm sure they aren't ALL awful, there must be a few good Michaels somewhere but...I just wouldn't risk it if I were naming a son ;)

If you are trying to pick a baby name then it would also depend on how the name flowed with the last name. When we were expecting DS3 we had a name picked out that we loved but it just didn't work with our last name so we chose something else.

I chose Michael because there seem to be less Michaels than in years past. When I was in elementary school, we always had 2 Michaels in my class, but now that I'm a teacher, I rarely have even one.

My last name is Darcy.

I like both Maria and Charlotte. Maria sounds a bit fresher, though, since Charlotte has become rather popular lately. I do love the nickname Lottie, though. :)

Of Michael and Henry, I'd have to choose Henry. Michael is nice (but not a fan of Mike), but Henry is nicer, imo.

My last name is Darcy.

Ah, then any of those work but of those given I still like Charlotte and Henry the best.

DD16 has a friend named Charlotte that goes by Charlee. I have always loved the name Henry and it can be shortened to Hank if you want a nickname.

Michael is a strong name as well. Don't let the popularity factor throw you off if you really love a name. When I chose my children's names I didn't know of anyone else with the names we had chosen and as soon as they were born it seemed like there were kids everywhere with the same names!

I am biased, but my oldest son is named Michael, and his name continues to be my most favorite boy name. It is a classic and strong name. And for the last 3 years, he has been the only Michael in his class. Oh, and although not an angel, he's a wonderful kid :lmao:

I also like both Charlotte and Maria

Charlotte and Henry. My sister just named her new baby Charlotte and for some reason I always forget her name because she doesn't look like a Charlotte at all!! LOL

Oh, then what about Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam? :) I'm a Jane Austen fan.

:thumbsup2 I think Fitzwilliam is definitely due for a comeback!

I'm not sure about Henry Darcy--I don't know about the repetition of the "ee" sound. It could come across as a bit twee. Especially for a boy, I think the last name Darcy needs a "hard" first name. But that's just my opinion.

I think that Henry Darcy sounds fine but if it were a double sound in the first syllable - like Donald Darcy - then that would be harder to roll off the tongue.

Did we miss an announcement post, Mrs. Darcy? :rolleyes1

Henry Darcy sounds like something out of Jane Austen or Bridget Jones.
