I have an ADR scheduled for a trip next month and I've heard some mixed reviews lately. I haven't been there since December 20008 and then I thought it was great.

Anyone have any recent experience?

Also, what's the fastest way to get there from the Poly?

Thanks.

Artist Point was the best meal of our January trip. We've been there many times, and it's our favorite signature restaurant.

To get there from the Poly, take the monorail/boat to MK, then take the boat/bus to WL. Can't really say what would be fastest. The boat/monorail from Poly to MK both take about 5-6 minutes, but you have no idea how long you'll be waiting. Likewise, the bus from MK to WL is probably faster than the boat, but you don't know how long you'll be waiting at the bus stop.

I think Artist Point is one of the most consistent restaurants. If you enjoyed in 08, you should still enjoy it now.

We just ate at AP on April 10th and it was the best meal of our trip!!! It was our 1st time there to and the waitress was really nice. I had the buffalo and I can't wait to have it again in July. As for getting to the Poly we took a cab over from the WL one morning and it took 5 min and it cost 6 bucks with tip.

I ate at AP in Dec and enjoyed my meal, but not as much as some of the other signatures. The app and dessert were great, as was the service, but my entree was lacking. I had the buffalo striploin with Mac n Cheese. Buffalo does not work well as a steak - not enough fat, so it was very tough and chewy. The Mac n cheese was really watery, lacked any flavor, and was cold.

I would go gladly again, but steer clear of the current buffalo cut. I was I had tried their signature cedar plank salmon.

NOTE: Artist Point was a highly respected and highly touted
eatery up to 2007. Since that time, it has changed and the food
quality and menu item uniqueness began to pale. They still have
some dishes that are particular to AP, but not as tasty or unique
as before. Even the huge berry cobbler dessert was downsized, as
it used to feed 2-3 people, not it barely feeds one. Artist Point
is still a good restaurant, but not superior as it once was.
As a
postscript, if you eat there, get a window table. The view of the
courtyard and lake are grand and romantic, versus just looking
at the rest of the dining room. Also, arrive early and have a drink
in the Territory Lounge. It is one of the better bars in WDW.

We have only eaten there once, the meal was ruined by the kids at the next table running around and a waiter full of himself. I would try it again someday but not too soon and I know that those types of things can happen anywhere.
The fastest way to WL I believe is catch the boat from the MK.

I would agree that Artist Point has been on the downward spiral over the past 3-4 years. The menu items and portion sizes have been diluted down to what you see now. The service went downhill and we simply will not go back unfortunately.

The fastest way to WL I believe is catch the boat from the MK.

Not necessarily. There is a direct bus between the MK bus stops and WL. If you rode into MK on a bus it might be easier just to switch bus stops and jump on the WL bus. If you came in on a boat, or if you would be more interested in a boat ride, you might just go to the WL boat dock and wait for the boat. The boat ride is a little longer than the bus ride but you do have to factor in the possilbity that you might have to wait for either the bus or the boat to arrive.

Buffalo should be cooked medium rare at the most, I think. I know that ordering well-done buffalo is not a good idea.

Haven't been to Artist Point in two years. The food was pretty good but at the last visit, the service was pretty much abysmal.

Service, attention, and food preparation were at their absolute best on my February visit. The new manager even came out of the kitchen and tried new recipes on us.

We ate at Artist Point for the first time this past December and it was awesome :thumbsup2. The filet and salmon were amazing ;).

3 words....CEDAR PLANK SALMON

if you enjoy salmon, then it is worth the trip.

We went in October and the food was excellent. We had the cheese plate to start and I would recommend it. Two of us had fish (can't remember what it was, except that it was NOT salmon) it was really yummy, the other person in our party had the buffalo/bison steak and she enjoyed that.

Two had the cobbler for dessert and the other dessert was chocolate something. The berry cobbler was the winner, but if you like sweet sweet desserts you prob. won't like that.

Our server was adequate but nothing special - however the gentleman who sat us stayed w/ us a while and gave us a lot of information about the menu, etc. - he was great, so maybe the server was just busy.

All in all, it was a great night. Can't wait for our next visit to AP! :thumbsup2

Just came across this AP review on the Disney Food Blog - http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/

Hands down the best meal and service we've had yet! Izzy was our server and he was PHENOMENAL! :woohoo:

We were there last June and it was one of the best meals of our trip. Great service, great food. We've eaten there before and it was also very good. We like it quite a lot!

It was our favourite restaurant. Last summer it was just so so. The waitress was over attentive, it seemed to be a slow night. Food was okay but overpriced, but the biggest problem for me was there was a lot of park attire in the restaurant. I know it's peoples choice and I am not trying to upset it's just that it is a signature restaurant and I think it devalues that. :confused3

Thanks everyone for your opinions. I am definitely going to give it another try.

We ate there twice in the last few years and thought is was just so-so. I can think of much better restaurants California Grill, Jiko, Raglan Road etc at WDW.
