I'm posting a pic of a dress that I like. There are a few elements of it that are not my favorite, but it has many more that I have been looking for. One of those I love is it's color. Red is my signature color. :rolleyes1 I'm thinking of having my attendants wear Ivory dresses...(sortof the reverse wedding party). This is an Intimate Vow Renewal for our 20th anniversary. We are now looking at November 2007 due to complications with my MOH. (Earlier thread posted).

What do you think? :confused3

If any of you have suggestions for a place to find brightly colored dresses in Pooh sizes...I'd be delighted to see what you come up with. I am a larger girl (24W) but I am more than comfortable with myself. I love the corset back, strapless, pick up skirt, and the color.

I can't wait to hear from you. :listen:

I saw this dress or one extremely similar in color and style at a bridal faire with my best friend and I think it is absolutely gorgeous! I love the back, the corset, the skirt and the slight drop in the waist. I don't like the tight corset look in the front with the boning. With the big skirt, I personally think it accentuates the negatives of the larger body shape. I also personally don't like strapless, I wore a similar dress as the MOH and I added small cap sleeves.

I think having your attendants in ivory will be stunning.

Congrats on 20 years, we are cruising up on 19 :thumbsup2

What are the parts you don't like? I think it's gorgeous, and it's a good, deep red, which I really like. It looks like the perfect VR dress to me!

Gorgeous! As a woman of the same size, I think the shape will be VERY flattering! And the color is to die for.

It's beautiful, and makes a bold statement! Nice choice! I think it will look so great on you!

It looks like your colors might be Micky Mouse red, black, and white (ivory)? Or just red? I love it! :thumbsup2

Ah....methinks you know me very well Moonpie. I'm a big fan of the Mouse! As a matter of fact, I'm in the process of reworking my kitchen into a Disney/Mickey Kitchen (red, yellow, black, & white) :rotfl:

Aurora...
to answer your question about what I don't like..

I really wish the skirt was a pickup skirt all over. I love that style (it reminds me of Belle's dress in the big ballroom scene) :cloud9:

Thanks for the support! :cheer2:

Thank you so much for your comments! :grouphug: I'll keep you posted. I'm going to continue to look for colored dresses.

VERY pretty. I love it. My wedding is in Nov. 07 on the 9th at 5:00, when is your VR?

Hi Steph...
My VR is tentatively planned for November 19, 2007. Hope your planning is going well! :wizard:

Wow, it's gorgeous!! I love the "reversal" idea and doing something different. :)

Me LIKEY!!!! It is perfect for a VR and I love the idea of having your attendants wear ivory!

I think the idea of the reversed color scheme is really nice, and ivory and red are such a pretty combo. I disagree a little with the poster (sorry) that said the bigger skirt emphasizes the wrong thing for larger size girls. I know what was meant, but with the top and dropped waist on this one, I really don't think it will. The corset top and dropped waist are VERY figure flattering on. Actually, many times it is the larger girls that can carry the fuller skirt off --they don't look like the dress is wearing them, as petite brides sometimes end up looking.

Tinkerbellz, if you have an hourglass shape, this dress will look spectacular. If you don't have one, this dress will help to create one. And I think it looks very Belle-like. I like the va-va-voom red color, and with your confident attitude it will be beautiful !

I am so dumb--what is a "pooh size" ?

And, I mean, I still don't know what a tag fairy is, either. Is it a secret, or what? Being a relative newbie is a PITA.

Tag Fairy: will place something you wrote under your name, it is usually something silly or cute and happens when you least expect it.

Pooh Size - Shaped like Winnie the Pooh

Let me clarify what I meant regarding the dress, typing can be so difficult sometimes.
Depending on build: The big skirts do not always look bad. With the tight top and the big skirt it can make some people look like they are squeezed at the top and then "poof" like a doll in a cake, there is this huge skirt which proportionally can look funny IMO. The waist looks more dropped in the back than the front to me. I do however think it is a gorgeous dress, I would wear it with a little cap sleeve and a little bit more drop in the front.
