Today i thought i would surprise my lovely wife and tell her i have been planning a trip to Disney World during the Epcot flower festival. I have spent weeks of hard work planning this trip. I am doing this because my charming wife is an avid gardner and loves flowers.Well when i told my beautiful wife about the trip i had planned for the two of us her reply was that we did not have time to go again this year.Did i forget to tell you we were at Disney in February 07. Well i was crushed after all the work i had put into the planning.:confused3 Needless to say a minor argument followed and i am in the dog house. To get myself out of the dog house and to show my extraordinary wife how much i love her i thought i would plan a trip some time in May:thumbsup2 Now this is where i need your opinions.Where do you think i should take her? It must be some place fun and romantic have lots of rides and themed parks lots of flowers and good places to eat.:goodvibes The wonderful mother of our children has agreed to go by the majority of what you wonerful people suggest. HELP!!!!:goodvibes

Take her to Disney!!!

If my dear husband ever planned a trip for us, I would have to eat my EARS :rotfl2:

He has never planned a vacation for us.

Your heart was in the right place but I am not sure a lot of people like surprise trips....too many variables.

Good luck! :cheer2:

Is the Epcot flower festival on every year???? I'm new to WDW so I'm clueless in that respect. If it is..plan together for next year.

Also as pp states, many people - myself included don't like to be surprised - we like to do the surprising, so she may just need to sleep on it and see it differently tomorrow.

That being said - were do you live? Because that will determine where to plan a special time away.

Keep the opinions coming .After my wife read these replys i got a MAYBE.:flower3: It might of been Beach Shellys proposal of marriage.:bride:

I've GOT it! It starts with D and rhymes is isney! What a sweetie! Good luck with your quest. It IS the Year of a Million Dreams, you know! pixiedust:

The Epcot International Garden Festival is beautiful.
Like breathtaking.
And the weather is amazing in May, it's not too hot, but it's not cold either. It hardly rains (anytime I've been it's rained maybe once or twice, over a 3 week period).

Do you tutor and is there anywhere I can sign my DH up for lessons:rotfl: ?

I've heard that the flower and garden festival is amazing. You only live once so you have to take time out to smell the roses:flower3:.

you could plan a surprise trip for me any time - I agree with everyone else - Disney is the place to go for everything you've listed!! I'm madly scrambling to see if I could manage to plan and execute a last minute trip for our family. Would love for my ds' to be able to say he celebrated his 13th birthday with Mickey!!

That sounds similar to what I did for my DW except I gave her a lot more input. We had a really long winter and our October trip seemed too far away so I booked us 8 days off in May (she works for me so booking time off together is not a problem) and surprised her the open schedule and a blank cheque to plan whatever Disney vacation she wanted in that time. She's always said she loves the planning as much as the vacation itself so I wanted to let her enjoy that aspect of it as well. This way she gets her choice of hotel, dining, everything... :thumbsup2

I think it is great that you are planning this, of course you need to take her to Disney! The Flower and Garden show is Great! My favourite time to go!
My DH would never surprise me with a trip that he planned, but I can't complain because it wasn't too long ago that I said I thought it would be a good idea if I took our youngest DD and her friend (was kind of joking) and he said "sure, go ahead". And that is about 5 months after our adult trip to the world in 2 weeks from now. Sooooo.....two trips for me this year! :goodvibes

Hey! How about taking her to Disney World? :thumbsup2

I wish I could go there in May. I think what you did was really sweet.

My DH and I were there last year for Mother's Day (without the kids!) and Epcot was absolutely beautiful - I'll never forget it. Just wandering around Epcot holding hands and looking at the amazing displays was wonderful - I'm not a gardener, and i couldn't believe all the beautiful things that could be done with plants and flowers. I hope you can convince her to go - we were only there a couple of days, but it was well worth it!:cloud9:

DISNEY!!!!!!!
We were there for Epcot's flower festival last year and it was spectacular, and I'm not even into gardening!!
:cool1: :cool1:

Do you have a brother between 35-45 years old? I am newly single and would love to meet someone that would plan something so wonderful for me!

Tell her she is crazy:crazy2: and any number of women would jump at such an amazing offer!

Good Luck ~ let her help plan the meals/restaurants/park etc so she feels more involved!
