Our daughter is getting married next March, and I wondered if anyone could help with a decision. We will be a party of just 3 adults, but I thought maybe the additional space in the GV might be nice for "getting ready" pictures and room for doing the brides and bridesmaids hair and makeup. But then in the pictures of the GV it sorta looks like the additional space is mostly upstairs, in the additional bedrooms (which of course we dont really need, the 2BR would be fine).

DD bless her heart is trying to save on the DFTW somehow, I guess she feels maybe we could save points and get by with a 2BR.

What do you guys think?

I think the 2 bedroom would be fine.

My Best Friend married in Orlando (Not Disney) but I booked a SV 1 bedroom at BWV for Dh and I and all the bridesmaids came over the morning of to get ready. We laid out wine, chocolate dipped strawberries and pastries and watched Lifetime :goodvibes

It was sooo relaxing and we mainly used the Living area and Kitchen and extra bath.

The GV would make for AWESOME photos though. That Arched picture window in the SSR Grand Villa would be a nice backdrop!

Oh! Congratulations!! :wizard:

Thank you for telling me about your experience - it was just what I had in mind for DD's maids. It sounds like you had enough room for your get together which is mostly what I was concerned about. (DD is only having 2 maids and MOH, so we wont have that many getting ready at once).

I wonder how much more room there is in the living room/kitchen/eating area of a GV? I cant really tell from Disney's pictures...

If memory serves me correctly I would say the living area in the GV is not quite twice the size of the 2 bdrm and the dining room is full size.

I was married July 2003 at the Wedding Pavillion and I will tell you that if you are using Disney Cosmetology the extra space in the Grand Villa will be an extra luxury and all you really need is the 2 bdrm.

Disney Cosmetology is works very efficently and comes with these big tackle box things full of the makeup and hair styling tools required. We were in a Concierge level Savana view room at the AKL with 1 maid, 1 mom, 1 bride and 2 flower girls with snacks and such laid out in the room and we had plenty of space.

Who is your daughter using for photography? We used Randy Chapman and I highly recommend him. We like him so much that a year and a half later we had him take family pictures for us BW at Christmas time.

Thank you for the insight about the cosmetology services, I am really torn about this! It would be a very special way to celebrate to have the GV, but it seems like its really not necessary. Plus, we would have to leave the day following the wedding due to the # of points required, and I'm not so sure DH and I will want to get up and get packed after the evening reception at LS.

DD is leaning toward Disney Photography, but we have heard that Randy Chapman is wonderful. I am trying to steer her in that direction b/c it sounds like he gives more personal attention.
