Well, i'm searching the brains of the DIS to see what you would do :) large extended family trip was originally planned for September of this year, but due to scheduling conflicts, mom not thinking she could get two weeks of vaca in september, and worried about the heat, we moved it to January, soooooo, here is my conundrum. We had already booked two rooms at Movies for my family and my MIL and FIL for free dining for our dates in september, and started paying on it. should I
1) Leave the reservation alone, continue to pay on it, and when the new rates come out for 2013, switch my reservation then to the new dates, and THEN if Free Dining comes out for my dates, add it at that point. (My 45 day window is August 5)
or
2) Cancel now, so I'm not sitting on two rooms someone else could book and then rebook in july or so when the new rates come out (again adding free dining if it comes out for our dates.

Part of me feels guilty for leaving the reservation there, BUT by having it, I'm able to pay on it, and make the amount I owe go down, so when we actually get to later the year I feel like a big chunk has been taken care of.

WWYD DISers? I need your advice :)

Move it to January when rates come out. I'm not sure why you would feel guilty about it. I have done this within the 45 day mark. Sometimes plans change. Disney has ridiculous cancellation fees and change policies. I would just do what feels best for you. Don't worry Disney is a big corporation they will survive.
