I haven’t been to Disneyland since 1995.

Now, we’re taking the kids, 7 & 5 to Disneyland in September.

We’ll have 2 full days and one half day as our plane doesn’t leave until 6 pm our last day.

We want to do both Disneyland and California Adventure. I’ve never been to CA.

Do the Disney experts think we should do DL for 2 full days and then 4 or 5 hours at CA?

Or, should we do a full day at DL, full day at CA and then 4 or 5 hours on 3rd day at DL again?

Thanks for any help!

Really depends on your kids and what they like to do. I say to plan to spend day 2 there. If you finish everything up, hop back over to Disneyland. Plus, Disney CA closes much earlier than Disneyland, so you might want to plan to end up over there in the evening anyway.

I would say to parkhop daily. The parks are really close; the entrance gates are across from each other. We generally start our day in Disneyland, in line before the gates open, then head over to DCA when Disneyland starts to get crowded. Other times we'll cross back and forth throughout the day and evening, depending on what rides/shows we want to do.

We'd not been to either park since we were kids ourselves and we went with our DD(4) so we decided to do Day 1 at DL, Day 2 at DCA, and Day 3 park hopping. We wound up park hopping back over to DL on the second day anyway because DCA closed early, but it worked out well. Also keep in mind if you are eligible for a MM or two and plan to do it that should also determine which park you do in the morning. If you are not eligible for MM, that also will dictate to a certain extent how you should plan too. So we happened to start out on a Sunday which was a MM day and we stayed onsite, so that determined that we would start with DL.

I agree with this. I would say parkhop each day and make the most of them all. If for some reason you really like one park, you can stick with that one, but the fastest way to do things is often to parkhop between parks to avoid lines.

What days of the week (& dates) are you enjoying DLR?

What day will you be enjoying MM?

What hotel will you be staying in?

(no matter what the answers above are.....you should Park Hop all 3 days. :thumbsup2)
