Opinions about Ohana

We are contemplating trying Ohana during our next vacation. What are your honest opinions? I read somewhere that the food tended to be dry. Have you found that to be the case?
Thanks in advance.

We LOVED it, we had 9:30 pm reservations so got to see the fireworks from our table, the food was excellent not dry and sticky at all very tasty even my picky 6 yr old ate alittle of everything and the dessert is to die for!

My DH would eat every dinner at Ohana if I could get reservations. Someone must like this place because I tried to change our ADR to another night and it can't be done - nothing for 8 straight nights. I'm glad to I have what I have!

It's worth a try but don't expect it to be the best meal of your trip.

I have found the food to be good, but the service is poor at best. The last 3 times we ate there, we hardly saw our server. Actually the only time during our service the server smiled, is when she/he came to the table to drop off the bill.

We are on the not love side. I find the meat to be dry, smoky and not to my liking. I also have not had good service.

Ohana was a favorite of ours about 5 or 6 years ago, but has disappointed us ever since. We went again on our last trip in August and that's it we are done and will never give it another shot. Food has gone way down hill, service is spotty at best.

We ate there in April and LOVED it. Our food was good and unique compared to the other places we ate.

The only negative, which it isn't really a negative, is that there was too much meat!!! You have to love meat/protein to eat there. Let's just say my husband was in heaven.

Enjoy!

PS - The kids games were great too!

This is somewhere I have always wanted to try. Even w/ the mixed reviews, I still am curious. I think it's b/c I have been told it was people's #1 fav meal in WDW. I got mixed reviews on the food @ the Spirit of Aloha & my husband & I thought it was very fresh & awesome. So I think you have to go w/ ur gut. + I tried the last time to get reservations & could not. So I"m def. gonna give it a shot. If it sux [which I doubt] I'll know not to go back.pirate:

We tried Ohanas for the 1st time a few week ago and it was very good.
I liked the saled, noodles, broccoli and shrimp. My DH loved the wings, potstickers, steak, chicken and dessert.
We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and they made us get up with everyone else celebrating anniversaries and say our names, how many years we were married and then we danced with our mates. I enjoyed it. But boy is it popular, we had ressies for opening time 5:00pm and the line for checking in was very long, but they went fast.

I've been to Ohana four times for dinner. The last time I ate there, three weeks ago, was the best. But the food can be hit or miss, though the bread pudding dessert is always awesome.

We had breakfast there yesterday. It was great! Had finished eating before characters came round though. Food was nice

We ate there last weekend and everything was pretty good. The meats were good minus the pork which was dry. DH likes his meat rare...so he asked for some rarer pices and the CM was more than happy to bring him some. I loved the pot stickers last time, but this time they were very hard. I prefer them boiled and then lighty fried on the bottom, but they almost seemed baked. Of course I am the only dessert lover in the family so I had the huge piece of bread pudding in front of me.....yum! The best desert ever! We had a great waiter who was always around to refill glasses or ask if we wanted more food. We always take our time and enjoy the meal....even if all the food seems rushed out of the kitchen .

I think we go more for the atmosphere rather than the food though. DD8 loves the games. She usually orders a hamburger and then plays all night while we eat. She did the hula, coconut races, maracas.....she came home with about 20 leis! We also got to see Wishes as we had a great table. They turn down the lights and pipe in the music. DD claimed it was the "best day ever!"

Please note that this is a meat eaters dream. My DD-11 and I went in Late July. We had early Adr's for diner. The food was good. I do not have a favorate place to eat because I do not like setting myself up for disappoint for the next time we eat there. It is loud and the service is slow to no fault of their own but to the CM who schedules. Over all it was good. WE will try it again this fall when we go back.

We love it for breakfast. We go there our first day in the park. We tried it for supper this past trip and never again. The meat was dry and over cooked. One piece of chicken was raw. The servers are over worked and the service is poor. They are friendly though.
