Opinions: A DL employee selling tickets online?

Hello. I'll be leaving for Disney this Monday afternoon, and I'm desperately trying to find a good 2-Day hopper deal for 5 adults. I'm searching local community sites to try to find someone in my area, I wandered off into the Orange County section and heard from a person who is supposedly a Disneyland employee who is selling 1-Day hopper tickets for $50.00 each. 1-Day + 1-Day = 2-Days

I haven't responded, not really sure how I feel about this. What does anyone know about DL employees and their access to tickets? Is it possible this is legit, and the person is just selling tickets they have access to for free, at a discounted price? Supposedly they can only do it between the 7/6 - 7/10 .

I don't really like to deal with transactions such as this, don't know the details but I guess this person would meet us there. Just wanted to get some opinions or similar stories first, thanks for any info.

Sounds kinda hinky to me...I am kind of leery about buying tickets anyway other than authorized sellers...too risky to mess with a vacation like that.

wasn't there a thread like this earlier where someone was re-selling disney employee purchased park tickets? i thought that person got busted.

Get the 3 day pass for $99 at Vons. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on this.

Yeah, if you're SoCal and are eligible for the 3-day pass for $99 I'd do that instead. The tickets you're looking at are very likely 6-or-8 day hoppers, which the seller wants you to use for just one day each, leaving a credit card with him for security that you will return it. Then they sell the subsequent days to other people, which produces a profit for them. It's illegal, because the tickets are non-transferrable.

Also if any disney employees are selling tickets under the counter, it's highly illegal and also fairly likely to be a scam for you.

Disneyland tix are non-transferable, and against company policy to re-sell them.

Of course, the DIS supports Disney's decisions to not buy these type of tickets.

Hi, thanks so far for the feedback. I would lOVE to take advantage of the $99.00 3-Day Hopper deal, but unfortunately I'm a Northern California resident :faint: . I'm also the person who posted the thread regarding the $99 deal and whether or not they check ID at Disneyland - just trying to see what I can get away with pirate: .

If anyone is curious, I contacted the person for a little more info. I was told he/she would meet me at the park, and escort our group of 5 adults into the park with their employee ID. It all seems a bit weird so no I'm not going to agree to anything, besides we plan to park hop so sneaking us into one park wouldn't work anyway.

I have purchased tickets from Disney employees twice on eBay with no problems. I was a Disney newb at the time and the fact that it was "against policy" didn't even enter my brain. Here on the boards you'll get a lot of grief I think for it, but it's your risk to take. I have an AP now, but I'd do it again. If you know anyone in the service, they can get discounted tickets. We've also done that and had no problems.

Have fun!

Just to let you know, I also live in NorCal, and my coworker bought the $99 pass, and she and her family were able to use them. Her friend bought them for her at Vons, and she was not checked for ID at the turnstiles. She was there on the 2nd and 3rd of this month, dont know if she decided to use the
3rd day or not.

HTH!!

Thanks, that's at least a little promising . Out of curiousity, do anyone know if these passes can be taken directly to the turnstiles, or do they need to be redeemed at a ticket window first?

I'm usually not so scammy, but it would save our group a lot of money, especially since we are already traveling on a budget to begin with.

This could really ruin your trip - don't have anything to do with it.

First off - DLR cast members can only get 4 people into a park on one day - and those tickets are free to them. Secondly, if they found out he was taking money from people to do that, he can be fired instantly and you can be kicked out. They have the ability to track CM use of their Silver Pass - it has a magnetic code strip, so they can easily get a record of how many people he brings in and how often. If they have reason to believe that he is abusing his employee benefits, they could be monitoring him. God forbid you be the guests that he gets caught on.

I have an AP, so I haven't bought the new $99 ticket. I hope someone here can answer you about whether or not you have to go to ticketing to activate it.

Best Wishes for an inexpensive option!
Nancy
