Opinion: Which Attraction Needs The Most Updating

If you were in control of such things, which attraction do you believe needs to most updating (besides the places that are currently down like the previous space for 20,000 Leagues)?

For me, I would have to put the River of Time ride in the Mexico pavillion (you could really do so much with this, other than the cheap cheese that is there now -- though I have to admit I still ride it) up there at the top.

Space Mountain. Not that the current version is bad, but I would tear out everything that's in it and replace the track with a smoother, more thrilling, longer and yet still family-friendly alternative. A soundtrack is also a must, as is true 3D scenery and maybe even a couple of story elements like Disneyland Paris' version.

Tiki Birds, sorry but I've never been into it(and there's also my theory that people have to be stoned to enjoy it unless they are kids;) )

Small World. The floor of it is so drab and flat. And the ceiling is also boring. You can't help but look up at all the "kids" and you just see an ugly warehouse ceiling. Of course my kids love it so I guess I'm just being a picky adult. They should get the designers from Trading Spaces in there to cover the ceiling with material and cover the floors with something while they're at it.

Wdwguide: I'm not sure I agree with you about Space Mountain. As much as I disagree with people that have the "you can't change that at all, it's a classic" mentality, I guess I like Space Mountain to keep the track basically the way it is (let me put it this way, I'd put the money elsewhere); the theming surrounding the ride could be updated a bit.

CourtasanSatine: I forgot about the Tiki Birds! I'm not sure if there's much hope for that attraction. It needs too much work.

Boo Mc: Going after one of the classics in It's a Small World, huh? I agree that the technology could be updated, while still essentially keeping it the same ride.

Boo Mc: LOL at the Trading Spaces crew redoing it(how about the fab 5:) )

I have two that I would like to see re-done.

Small World- before you blast me for an old classic my only thing I would love to see is that it's updated and maybe even have the overlay like DL has for the Holiday's. The ride is becoming a little dated and I think with a little work Disney could make it like brand new again.

Alien Encounter- I know this is some people's favorite ride but I'm one of these people that don't like to be enclosed and then breathed on. If the ride could be done where you can have seats without the harness I would enjoy it more.

The Living Seas in Epcot. Really miss the sea cabs. Always thought the movie at the start was too long & the ride part too short.

The first thing that came to mind was El Rio de Tiempo!

Oh... good lord, it has to be the Tomorrowland "speedway" what a sorry ride that is. Maybe it would be more exciting if they removed the guide track... then at least you could steer your car!

2nd choice would be spaceship earth.... seems like everything they show along the way exisits now... they need something else in there to spark some imagination.

>>^..^<<

hands down, its gotta be El Rio de Tiempo-gotta be something better they could include on what is a nice ride in a nice setting-the movies have to be circa 1981 easy.

To us, WDW has attractions and experiences that you just can't see anywhere else. From that perspective, Living Seas has gotta be second. At one time, it was fairly interesting and the little ride kinda fun, but now that every decent size city has a nice Aquarium that is better than that at WDW, so it just doesn't make the cut. We live in Houston and there are four within 6 hours driving and it certainly can't compare to any Sea World.

The Tiki birds and Small World will always be all time classics and attractions that are unique to Disney They are what they are-just not 2003 overwhelming technology. They're fine as is.

Jungle Cruise may be one that could fit in the update category, but I don't know what you could do. Frankly, Kilimanjaro is effectively is an update.

The Living Seas!! From the start that attraction didn't live up to what Disney is capable of.

Boo Mc: LOL at the Trading Spaces crew redoing it(how about the fab 5 )

Woo hoo! I vote for that! Would love to see what the Fab Five would do with the interior of the Contemporary Resort. With the exception of the GCC it really needs better themeing. They could make it LIVE again! :)

I know, that wasn't an attraction, sorry it was the first thing that came to mind :D

What about Snow White's scary adventure? I've never cared for it, I feel esp. after the Mr. Toad/Pooh redo that they could do so much more with that space in Fantasy land, even if they made it another snow white ride.

Please, don't hurt me LOL.

Spaceship Earth really needs an update...and so does the El Rio de Tiempo I will agree with that...though several have already said it before on this thread.

Buzz Lightyear really needed a good scraping down and paint job when I was there last year and the Carousel of Progress (which I know is seasonal now and will never be updated) needs some updates in the last scene..very outdated.

Just to clarify (before the Small World police come and lock me up in a white cage in Antarctica), I actually like Small World - it's just the floor and ceiling that bug me. I have to agree that the ride in Mexico with the tv screens is a little bizarre. And while I'm at it, what about the waiting line for the ride in Norway? I feel like I'm in a junior high hallway. Maybe we can get Hildi in there to glue some straw to the walls!!

The Living Seas!!!! It could be so much more. Maybe Charlie the tuna could help.

What about the Tomorrowland Transit Auth? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this ride, especially when my feet are killing me. But they could do SO MUCH with the tunnels that it rides through. They're so blah now, aren't they?

The TTA could be much better and longer for my soar feet!

I would say, at the chance of getting thrown from the top of Cindy's Castle, all the old favorites could use an update.

Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Carribean. I don't mean by making a major motion picture about them either!

Look at any old commercials or specials of MK and those rides haven't changed. I am all for tradition and sentimentality (is that a word?) but they could all use lots of updates!

Start with the Winnie the Pooh and Tigger rides in FantasyLand. Runner up, Small World.

Don't get me wrong, I love MK I just see no reason to still have 50's technology on the MK rides.

The Jungle Cruise definitley needs updating, but I am not sure how they would go about doing it. I also agree on Spaceship Earth, plus Buzz needs a good coat of paint (One of our faves!)
The Living Seas is at the top of my list, I thought it was kind of drab before they took out the sea cabs.
