How difficult do you think it's going to be to make ressies at the new BCV once they open up next year? (Or whenever they are suppose to open!) I am referring to those who don't own there and won't have the 12 month window. I am thinking it might be a little difficult since we see how popular BWV is and how quickly ressies go. I am wondering whether or not to do an add-on at the BCV but don't know...

ALSO...I wonder if the BCV being open will free up some of the rooms at the BWV...what do you guys think??! :D

If you are in the market for additional points and are really interested in BCV - buy some there. At 11 months you can pretty much call your own shots regardless of season or room type. You have a chance at 7 months but let's face it, 11 is better.
In my opinion, there will probably be a surge of requests for BCV at first. It will be different and new and will have all of the advantages of BWV. I expect that in a few years, all will be back to normal but what do I know? Personally, I have never met a DVC site that I didn't enjoy. See you at BCV (if the 7 month window is open).

I am wondering the same thing, and IMHO it will depend on how high the points are to stay at BCV. If they are significantly higher then BWV I think you will find it is harder to stay at BWV after the BCV owners figure out they can have the same location for less points. Of course they will have to compete with everyone else at the 7 month window. If this is the case, then I suppose it will make it easier to get in to BCV. If points are comparable, I would agree that BCV will be hard to get into at first, but then it might draw some people from BWV and free up space there. Obviously this is all speculation until they actually set point schedules, price, and dues. As a whole, I think people who buy into BCV and those of us at BWV are deliberately buying a specific location and won't budge too much from our home resorts. Otherwise we would have bought into OKW or VWL for the cheaper dues and larger rooms of OKW.:D

Until BCV sales reach a high level, the only demand they will have is from owners at other resorts, so in that respect almost everyone would be using the 7-month window. In my opinion that's no different that BWV owners all using the 11-month window there, or OKW owners using 11-month windows at their resort. There just won't be that many BCV owners who can exercise the 11 month window. Even at that, what good is an 11-month window during the first 6-months the resort is open?

That said, remember also that since it'll be so new, everyone will want to try it out right away so it's popularity will be high. But again, most of the reservation requests will still be coming from owners who must use the 7-month window, so it's fair to all, everyone has equal opportunity.

As it gets into the 2nd year of ownership, then those that did buy there are getting 11-months or more out and will start getting their priority as a BCV home resort owner.

We'll just have to wait and see how it works. Meanwhile, I definitely plan to make ressies as soon as I can.

I agree with Caskbill, the first year or so it will be open to everyone and all DVC members will have an equal chance. My speculation was based on what will happen when BCV is mostly sold out. I wonder if VWL is continuing their brisk sales or has the economy slowed things down? My initial thought was that BCV would sell out even faster- but now who knows?
