In your opinion, am I better off booking a package, or booking room only and wait for discounts on the rooms. Is it true that when you book a package, if a better deal comes along, you can have your package changed to reflect that? Also, would it be better to book a package for 2005 now before the prices of park tickets goes up?

Believe it or not just booking your package will not guarentee a rate if the cost of tickets go up. You need to pay in full to guarentee the price. You can have a package changed as long as the availablility for the lower price is available. This would also include Air if you are booking an air inclusive pagkage, just be prepared to pay in full when you make the change.

I just booked a room only ressie through Dreams Unlimited. I need an easy out if my kids get sick as we will be going in Feb flu season. I did the comparison and i can get a good deal if I do everything seperately. If I have a room only ressie I can cancel with 5 days notice and I only have to pay one nights lodging and the rest in full upon arrival. For me it is a better option.

Well, as I understand it, AAA discounts are only available on rooms, not packages, so probably. Then you can get discounted tickets through AAA and you'd be doing much better.

Here's the problem. With a package, you pay for extra days in the park that you might not need, plus a bunch of stuff I personally don't think is worth it. They start the 1st day you arrive and end the last day. So for me - I'm flying in at 4pm. Why would I want a ticket that day? The day I leave, I fly out at like 8am. Again, why would I want a ticket that day?

I booked a room only on the 1st day and a room only on a last and a room with Ultimate Park Hoppers in the middle. I saved about $600.00 on our trip. I would've saved more had I known about AAA, but oh well :( The ONLY problem, the ONLY one - is that you DO have to check in/out 3 times. No biggie if your going at a slower time like me. Worth $500.00 bucks too. Also, you do run a risk of having to switch rooms, but pretty much everyone told me that RARELY happens. They put it in as a "continuous reservation". I'm sure someone has gotten burned, but really... I would switch rooms for $600.00. We're gonna use that money on some fabulous meals instead!

It seems to me the "Dream Maker Package" only comes with some lanyards, a poster and a round of mini-golf. Um.. no thanks! Just my opinion!
