A friend and I have been planning a WDW trip since January for the 12 of this month. She bought her air tickets last month. She has not yet officially asked her boss for the vacation time. She works in a tax office. She says it should be no problem, but with the 12th being one week away I am worried. Would you? I know she wants to go, but it seems wierd for such a professional position to work that way. She gets upset at me for getting nervous about it.

I think I would be worried as well. I know my BIL is an accountant and during tax time he is crazy busy. Even after April 15th there are extensions and what not to deal with and he never gets vacation time until June at best. You didn't say what your friend does in the tax office, so hopefully it isn't a position where she can't get off. Good luck.

I would be worried. What kind of tax office worker gets off this time of year?

Make back-up plans to go by yourself or bring someone else. My friend backed out of my 30th b-day trip to France. I went anyway, partially solo and partially with a tour group, and had a blast, probably better than I would have had with my friend. Now another friend just told me she can only get 4 days off for our supposed 10-day trip next month. I fully expect to be doing this one solo, as well. I finally told myself that if I keep waiting for other people to get their acts together and come with me, I'll never go on vacation! Good luck!

I would be worried. What if her boss tells her that she didn't give him enough notice of leaving and she is not able to go with you, then what? She may not be able to get a refund... I hope everything works out.

She may work on corporate tax accounts. They don't have to file on April 15th.

Why is she waiting so long to ask though if it'll be ok. Is she just planning on going and not asking?

she should have asked already, but she knows her situation and thinks it no problem
