Thinking about buying my mom a MNSSHP ticket for her birthday; however, the only date that would work for is the 9th of October, which is listed in most places as a very busy MNSSHP date. It's a Friday night, so that makes sense, but it's the only one that would work out. We've been on two other occasions, and usually use party nights to watch the parade and just ride a few rides.

So, would you spend the money? Or would you pass this trip?

Go to the party and avoid Main Street and the hub like the plague - you'll have a blast.

We go to 2 or three parties every trip. Sold out parties are much more crowded, but if you don't know any better, you wouldn't know. It is much less crowded than a normal park day even when it is sold out.

We have been to two parties and they couldn't have been more different. The first was very light crowds (I couldn't really ride anything so we walked around a lot). The second was high crowds, but we were still able to get on rides with only a little wait.

I am thinking this might be a good present, that way we can do the late night at Epcot the night before, wake up and go to HS in the morning, then relax and hit a late night at MK. We also would avoid Epcot for Friday night food and wine (we're staying at an Epcot resort).

I'd take any more opinions though, especially from anyone who went when it was really crowded and didn't think it was worth it. I'm still kind of on the fence, and the tickets aren't bought yet.

I went to a sold out party last year. Ride waits were either walk on or pretty short wait. I'll be honest though we didn't try to see the fireworks or the parade from Main Street though. We caught the fireworks from behind the castle in Fantasyland. This was my first time ever seeing MK fireworks so I don't know if I missed anything by watching from back there but I still thought it was amazing. We found a great spot for the second parade sitting on the sidewalk in front of the train station and had great interactions from all the parade characters. The parade was so good! There were lots of spots to sit around us too for the second parade. The trick or treat was fun, but didn't seek it out. If we were walking by we'd stop. I stood in line for a few character meets, but not the special ones, so I don't know how the lines for that was. It was just fun walking around, seeing the lights, and the music is great. I'd do it again if I had the chance. The only time I felt the crowds was when I was trying to get from Adventureland to Tomorrowland before the first parade.

That was the only date that worked for us so we are going and fully intend to have a great time! We went to a sold out Christmas party a couple of years ago and the lines were still incredibly short, so I'm not too concerned. I hope you will decide to go ahead and go.

I also went to a sold out party last year and I agree that the lines were pretty short, the only thing with any substantial wait that I remember was SDMT (even then I'm thinking only 30 minutes?). The parade was kinda crowded but we found a spot as they started rolling out the rope and didn't feel crowded out and we got to sit in the front. We across the street from the shooting arcade. The only other thing was that there seemed to be a lot more trick or treaters than I remember in the past but you didn't mention any interest in that. I'd definitely still go! It's so much fun!

Just figured I'd return and say I did buy her a ticket and will be surprising her with it in May. I'll be going too, of course. ;) Thanks for all the opinions!
